  • TFG- makes perfect sense.

Got the blood work done this morning so I can check that off my list.

Down 2 pounds this week to 145. This probably has more to do with the diarrea I had last night from the crap I ate. lol.

    YAY its' FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What's your long weekend plans?
I am going to sleep, go for a couple hour hike on Saturday, eat good food and drink good wine. I am also going to clean out my closet.

    • Hey T

Sticking with my main journal for the Sept challenge. My sig line was getting too messy!

I want to run so badly but this PF issue won't let me without putting me in major pain.

But, I've been followin' Kuno's experiment....and rethinking Mark's book. Veggies first, then lean meats, then nuts/fats/oils. Not fats, meats, veggies. Wrong order.

So, if I change anything, it'll be that. Just enough fats to cook with.

      This weekend...
was going to go MTB riding but it's been raining. So the trails would be a mess and I would be tearing them up.
BUT, this would be a great time to go hiking on them. Hmm...
Physical activity will be low key this weekend due to I'm still dying from all the yard work Wednesday!

oh...and tux try-ons Saturday with my 'best woman'. Lol...

Should be most entertaining. My redneck side comes out and wants to wear my black wranglers with the tux top. alllllmmooost got C convinced.

      What are you up to?
Even if you fall flat on your face, at least you're moving forward!

        Crap in, crap out?!

Your weekend sounds fab and really close to mine!! The only addition is we're going to do some house improvement stuff.. nothing huge, just some organizing and painting of the kitchen, which should be super easy and FUN! (I love painting!!) Besides totally cool arm and shoulder workout!! Hee hee

Congrats on the pounds... it's always nice to see a drop!

          • J- plantar fascitis SUCKS. I feel your pain. I think a muddy hike sounds fabulous!

Minx- hey your weekend sounds like mine Have fun!

Thanks Kuno Right back at ya!

So I'm still sitting at work like a big ol' chump. I am the only here besides the chick I'm waiting on. We have documents due today and I can't go anywhere till she sends me her portion. GRRRRR! I could just pack up my computer and go home and work but I was REALLY REALLY trying to avoid having to do work at home on a holiday weekend. I just want to do it here and not have to think about it when I leave. BOOOOOO!!!!

DH gets off at 3 and he said he would go to Whole Foods and pick up 10 pounds of grass fed ground beef- they have a $3.99 sale only today. So that's nice of him. I hope they still have some by the time he gets there.

            • Got the beef!

              gf beef..jpg

The butcher kid flicked DH attitude about dividing the 10 pounds into 1 pound packages though. Wish he'd gotten the kid's name so I could call and complain. I have never had a problem with doing that- those guys are usually so helpful and nice. But I'm in a mood and would complain cuz that's not cool. But hey I got 10 pounds of gf ground beef for essentially half off. Wish had more money- would have bought more.

                  • sorry you have to work.
i have to work today (monday)
                    yah on the beef!
sprouts had their pastured chickens on 'manager's special' yesterday...i think we grabbed 3 or 4 of them! Normally, for a 5lb bird, they run about $12 - 14. These were $6 & $7! C thought I had lost my mind because I had wandered over by the meat while they were picking out lunch meats. And I came running back for the cart. With 2 birds in my hands. When she caught up with me, she made me put 2 of them back. lol...

                    i get excited over chicken.

                    yikes.

                    • You and me both sister! I worked yesterday and am working today too. But I don't mind working at home so much, get to hang out with the dogs and sit in my yoga pants

I got 4 pounds of grass-fed ground beef at Whole Foods too! It wasn't on my list at all, but it was $3.99 here too so I got 4 pounds. I thought about getting more too, but we'll get our side of beef in about 6 weeks and that meat is even less expensive per pound. CAN'T WAIT. Weird that the sale was across the whole US though?!

Oh, I'm going to do couch to 5k with you too!! I need a schedule to get myself to workout right now. I have the energy to do it, I've just been lacking motivation since I was exhausted for 6 weeks straight...got out of the habit of being active! I'm going to go to the gym Monday/Thursday (which I accomplished this past week!), which means I could run Tuesday/Wednesday/Saturday or Sunday. That should be good! I do so well when I print out the schedule and put it on my fridge, then mark off each day with a check mark Dorky, I know, but it's a motivator for me.

                        • lol aw that is a sad picture of you having to put chickens back, J! So glad you were able to get some though. I get super excited when good meat is on sale. BTW, I went back to whole foods on saturday to get eggs and I checked the gf ground beef and they had it marked at 10.99 a pound!!!! I told DH they jacked that price up cuz of the sale the day before. Crazy. Sorry you have to work today but I hope it's good anyway.

hannah- yeah it wasn't bad working this weekend. I did all the fun stuff I wanted to do during the day and then just came home and did the work while DH watched TV. I did 4 hours Saturday night and then another 2 hours last night and I think I'm in good shape. Today I won't do any so at least I get a little break. Unlike you though, I do not get overtime cuz I'm salary I have to meet the deadlines though regardless of how long it takes me.
YAY I'm glad you are doing C25K with us. I have a feeling it will be too easy - I pretty sure I can bust off a 30 minute run anytime I want because I occasionally will do just that. But I don't do it regularly cuz I don't have a schedule. Just like you, if it's on a list or I have a schedule I check off, I HAVE to do it. I feel like a failure if I don't.

Saturday we hiked Iron Mountain. It was 100+ degrees out there and we did not make it to the top. We made it 1.5 miles up which took about 47 minutes and we had stopped to get our heart rates down (mine averaged 170 bpm on the way up- too high) and DH says, "T, I'll be honest, I don't think I can make it to the top." lol. He usually will muscle through anything so I know he was hurting. We were both nauseous from the heat so we turned back- took only 30 minutes to get back down. We will conquer Iron Mountain on another cooler day. BTW, its about 3 miles to the top so we only made it halfway up. Then we went to CPK for beer and pizza- SO good after a hard work-out. Then we went shoe shopping for DH- he didn't find anything but I found a black sweater and a black sheer top that I will wear a spaghetti strap under. Then I worked for 4 hours. Sunday we went to church, went shoe shopping again for DH and found nothing (he's VERY picky), then we came home and I worked for 2 hours while he took a nap (no fair!). Then we watched Iron Man on netflix. Today we are going to hike Torrey Pines and then I need to stop at the store to pick up tomatoes and avocades cuz I'm craving guacamole again, maybe get a roaster chicken so I don't have to cook anything. Then I need to get laundry going and we will probably sack out and watch movies on netflix.

Hope you all have a happy Labor Day!!!

                              • Hiya Kuno- yep it turned out to be a great weekend after all Fishing is fun! you might catch something and then get to eat it!

Soooooo Torrey Pines was interesting today. It is generally not my favorite place to go. I am more of a heat/desert/less people is better kind of gal but DH is more of an ocean/cool kind of guy. So since we did what I wanted on Saturday, I agreed to do this today.. SO many freakin people out there today. There must have been about 5 japanese tour busses. I was definitely glad to be done. We did 4 miles and it took 1 hour and 38 minutes.

I did get a roaster chicken and made sweet potato fries and guacamole. Now I am just sucking down a couple of light coronas. Ahhhhhhhhhh......
