    Day 6 - yeah, I know...supposed to start on day one.. Rules, rules.... So, like I was saying Day 6:

    Started to wake up out of my slumber at 5:45am. Sun was peeking through the window, with blinds now being left open. Shut the alarm off 1 minute before it started it's infernal noise at 6:15am. Yay me!

    Breakfast: 4 egg omelet (cage free organic brown eggs), one jalepeno, 5 grape tomatoes, 1 oz of raw mild cheddar cheese, salted butter, and 4 strips of bacon (no nitrites or nitrates added - nature's promise organic).

    Lunch: 5.5ozs pork tenderloin, 24 almonds, 1 cheese stick, 15 baby carrots.

    Dinner: 16oz Prime Rib from Longhorn, 5 stuffed mushrooms (herbs and cheese without breading), 15 stalks of asparagus, mixed green salad (no croutons) with chipotle ranch dressing.

    Water: 128 ozs.


    Long day. Spent most of it walking at work. On feet majority of day. Low intensity.


    I know there is a lot of cheese in my diet still. Not quite sure how much if any I will be cutting out. I will do my best. Looking at a butcher for grass fed beef. Hopefully soon...


    Starting weight on 5/6/2011 was 258lbs. Current weight 253lbs on 5/10/2011.

    16 oz. prime rib, I like your style. As for the cheese, I would say keep an eye on it and not go crazy and you'll be OK. If you hit a snag in you're weight lose then that may be the culprit and you'll know what to do. But you've lost 5 lbs in 4 days, so it's not an issue yet.

      Woke up today feeling great. Refreshed, got to sleep in! Survey says : 251.6lbs!!!!!! Yay!

          Breakfast today was much the same as the above picture, only with the bacon inside. YUM!

          Just got done eating this delicious beast. 4 eggs, jalepeno, 5 grape tomatoes, 1 oz raw mild cheddar, 4 strips of uncured bacon (Nature's Promise). Jalepeno inside negates the need for hot sauce!

          Worked out, 5 mins treadclimber at 3.5mph - alternated Rotating curls and bench dips then alternated rope cable curls and straight bar tricep extensions.

          Rotating curls 30 lbs x 20, 35 lbs x 15, 35 lbs x 15

          Bench Dips 15, 15, 15

          Rope Cable Curls 100 lbs x 10, 100 lbs x 10, 100 lbs x 10

          Straight bar tri ext. 120 lbs x 10, 120 lbs, 10, 120 lbs x 10


          Now off to work!

            Just got done with my first intermittent fast. Started at 6:00pm Saturday night and didn't have anything but water till 6:00pm tonight. It seemed a lot easier than I thought it would. I didn't feel shaky or anything. Now I will say that I didn't have a high energy day planned so not expending much energy might have made it easier. My first meal breaking the fast was the following:

            3 cups organic spinach
            2 ozs raw mild cheddar cheese
            12 organic grape tomatoes
            1 jalepeno pepper fresh chopped
            4 tbsp "cowgirl ranch" dressing
            10 baby carrots chopped
            6 slices of uncured bacon


            Drank over 20 glasses of water throughout the day so I was plenty hydrated. I normally drink as many as 18 glasses each day anyway, so this was not a huge departure from normal.

            Hope I did this right!

              Treadmill - 3.5mph for 15:00 mins
              Strength Training - 30 mins
              DB Benchpress - 30lb x 10 reps, 35lb x 10 reps, 30lb x 14 reps
              Cable Decline Press - 8lb x 10 reps, 10lb x 20 reps
              DB Incline Bench - 25lb x 12 reps, 25lb x 12 reps (help on last 2 of each set)
              DB Inclined Fly - 20lb x 10 reps, 15lb x 20 reps Cable Tri Ext - 70lb x 6 reps, 50lb x 12 reps

              First night we have really done chest since 4/1. I am weak. I know in other exercises I feel myself getting stronger, but in chest, definitely weak!

              I know, it will come. Just gotta have a little patience. Work at 7:30am, gotta get some shuteye!

                So, big steak last night with wine. One glass and oh how a dry red wine with a massive hunk of red meat cooked medium rare is awesome!! I love it! Took my wife out for her birthday. We had a pretty good time.


                Tonight my parents took us both out for dinner since our birthdays are only 7 days apart. We went to Cracker Barrel, more a matter of convenience than desire to go there, but it was good. I had 3 eggs, 2 sausage patties, 3 strips of bacon, and a house salad with buttermilk ranch dressing. Also finished the last 3 ounces of my wife's sirloin since she wasn't going to finish it. Very happy that she likes meat rare as it was cooked just right.

                Yesterday morning I weighed 249.8 which is 1.8 lbs down from last Friday!!! Today 248.8! Today would have been one week. Very happy with the progress! I started at 258 lbs fourteen days ago. I am down almost 10 lbs!!! Also under 250 lbs for the first time in over 10 years!! Very excited!

                      Today was a long day at work. 5:30am-4:30pm... Had to get up at 4:15am. Let's say that I was less than functional for a while. I don't do well on 6 hours of sleep lately. Seems like I need closer to 8 hours or I get that blah feeling!

                      Anyway, todays menu looked a little like this:

                      Meal 1 - 3 oz chicken tenderloin and a Frigo mozzarella cheese stick

                      Meal 2 - pistachios, almonds - 1 serving each

                      Meal 3 - salad, including grape tomatoes, lettuce, parm cheese, bacon crumbles, turkey (1oz), and 2 hard boiled eggs.

                      Meal 4 - 1/2 a rotisserie chicken and 1 cup of cole slaw

                      10 glasses of water at this time. More to be consumed I'm sure!


                      Other than walking a good distance, not much other exercise.

                            Did a little bit of fasting from 10:30pm last night till 6:30pm today. Burned a bunch doing yard work today. Had a good size piece of steak and some salad for dinner tonight. Was a really good day! Also bought my wife and I some Vibrams. We had some on order, but it's been a half a month or more and they still haven't even shipped. So I cancelled the order tonight and bought some at Eastern Mountain Sporting Goods.

                            I work all weekend, so fun.. ;-(

                              Yesterday was a messy day for me. Food choices were good till I went to poker party and ate pepperoni(crap store brand) and cheeses. Then to compound the fact that I was sliding down the slippery slope, I drank. 2 captain Morgans and soda water, 1 bottle of red wine, and a glass of a second one. Probably 40 ounces of wine. Needless to say, today sucked. Hangover for hours. Guess what helped? Food, burger, some cheese, (not a good choice, but mayo), ribs and chicken!! Felt much better instantly.

                              Was late for work for the first time in years.. Not so good. Boss wasn't unkind abut it, he actually laughed at me and got his jabs in throughout the day.

                              So, after 21 days in I weigh 246.4 pounds. This is a drop in weight of 12.6 pounds! Very excited! I've done two fasts so far. Both were great days. I'm slowly moving towards not logging my food. That is next. After almost 6 months of logging every meal, daily water intake, and all forms of exercise - I'm burnt out!

                              On Tuesday I'm going to my doctors - without being violently ill for once to have a complete physical. Having them run a full blood panel so I can see the difference from last fall when I had my weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol checked. I'm pretty stoked about going, not usually the case. I hate doctors offices and hospitals since I spent so much time in them as a child. Rrr!
