    Hello!

    I happened upon Mark's Daily Apple a year ago, but back then I completely bought into Conventional Wisdom and thought the Primal lifestyle was crazy after reading a few articles. "What! No grains!?" was my reaction. I recently bought Mark's book and read it from cover to cover. I realized that the ideas put forth in the book really made sense, and I have adopted the Primal lifestyle ever since—but I've been falling off the wagon left and right. So, I figured it's time to start getting real with myself and face the decisions I'm making from day to day. Here I go!

    Day 1

    L: 2 organic eggs, 1 cup broccoli, 3/4 cup butternut squash, 1/3 cup bell peppers, 2/3 cup pearl onions, 4.6 oz. chicken breast, 1 organic Granny Smith apple
    D: 2 organic eggs, 1 The Laughing Cow Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil cheese wedge, 6 oz. sweet potato, 4.75 oz. chicken breast, 1 organic Granny Smith apple

    I feel like I have a hard time detecting when I am no longer hungry, so that by the time I think I do know, it's already too late and I'm feeling full. Still learning to listen to my body's signals! Also, I don't crave processed sweets or grains, but I have fruit cravings. I always seem to have to have a piece of fruit after my meals. Does this mean I'm still addicted to sugar?

    I have two midterms tomorrow, so I spent most of my day inside studying. I took a walk to Trader Joe's in the afternoon to buy some groceries, and then walked back, but didn't really exercise otherwise.

        Day 3

        L: 6 oz. ground turkey breast, 2 cups broccoli, 1/3 cup bell peppers, 1 cup butternut squash, 3 oz. sweet potato
        S: 1 Braeburn apple
        D: 1 Fuji apple

        I woke up this morning and took a 10 minute walk, then lifted weights for 10 minutes. I wasn't home all day and so I snacked on a bag of Trader Joe's 50% Less Salt Fancy Mixed Nuts that I had with me throughout the day. And now there's only 1 oz. of nuts left out of the original 16 oz. Eek.

              S: 24 oz. Starbucks Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte
              D: 1 slice bacon, 5.75 cups cabbage, 4 oz. yellow onion, 1 Haas avocado, 12 strawberries

              I discovered bacon today! I am nixing the nuts and consuming bacon, eggs, and avocado for fat intake.

                        My cold is getting worse, and my appetite along with it. I felt like eating some nut butter/nuts and now I don't think I want to eat nuts again anytime in the near future. Blargh. I hope I get better soon!

                          D: 6 Tbsp. almond butter w/ flaxseed

                          My throat hurts a lot and my appetite has gone way down. Nothing really appeals to me but for some reason I still want to eat nuts and nut butters. That's probably not too good to do though, so I am going to stop eating them, starting tomorrow.

                              L: 4 eggs, 5 tater tots, 3/4 hamburger patty, a few oven-roasted french fries, 2/3 Granny Smith apple, 2 chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, 1 banana
                              S: 2 packs instant noodles, 1 Klondike Oreo Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Bar, 1 Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolate

                              I had a massive unplanned cheat day today. I ate some french fries and it all sort of went downhill from there. The sugar ups and downs are making me feel sick. Lesson learned. Time to jump back on the wagon and stay on it!

                              I just went and did 20 minutes of cardio and 5 minutes of lifting.
