      i hear ya, sister, i'm in the same boat. it sounds like we are of the same body type. i think the futility of trying to get the fat to go away has gotten to me, so i've said F it and am trying to build muscle instead. at least this way i can eat. haha.

      if you ever make it to the states, i challenge you to ARM WRASSLIN!!!

      oh and: you're welcome y'all for the link. shit has been getting to me so i've been scouring the intwerwebs for more positive, female empowering articles, ones that don't make you feel guilty for not looking like Iron Pumping Malibu Barbie.

        Yeah, I'm the classic mesomorph, broad shoulders and hips, narrow waist and good muscle tone. If it wasn't for the fat padding I have over my whole body, I'd be hot!

        Funny you should mention arm wrestling, at the pub the other day, one of the slim, gym bunny girls I work with challenged me to an arm wrestle (??), after I flattened her, I ended up with a queue of about 5 girls lining up. Killed them all btw I wondered why none of them noticed that my bicep circumference was about twice theirs before they lined up! Mind you, I think you would kill me Bats.

        Oh I bought some of those bodyfat calipers yesterday, when they arrive, I'll post an updated BF% estimate.

          • ha ha, i wonder. my UB strength BLOWS ASS. i am working on it though!!

            take some time to play around with the calipers - its very easy to squeeze yourself into 8% BF although some days, that can make you feel better. heh heh.

              It don't matter how hard I squeeze, they aint' gonna say 8% I assure you

              Ok well, the whole 30 thing blows I've decided. I have put on 2kg since I started, meanwhile I'm depriving myself of some of my favourite things like butter and mescal and eggs. That just sux.

              So I'm quitting it. I see no point in living solely on meat and vegetables if it's only going to make me fatter, although how that is even physiologically possible just blows my mind! My hormones must be totally out of whack!

              • It feels great to stop thinking about food so much!! I have enjoyed some delicious grub over the last coupla days. Oh butter and cheese how I've missed you!!

                My first 'The whole 30 can kiss my ass' breakfast. Bacon, chorizo, eggs and tomato fried in butter and sauerkraut, topped with raw milk parmesan...



                Today's lunch, Pork rind nachos, these were bloody filling and are the reason I decided to IF tonight...



                In other news....

                Got a new haircut, is a bit choppy and cool and I yikes it

                Got my last paper back from the lecturer, another High Distinction to add to the collection!

                Have completely given up caffeine!! I did not think it was possible, but here we are at day 10!

                Ok, time for bed, I'm starving and I don't want to eat till breaky so will go sleep through it, g'night all

                      • Just a quick check-in....

                        Got my bodyfat calipers in the mail today, did the measurements (three times for good measure!) and they have me at 35.6% bodyfat. This makes me MUCH happier than the 55.7% I got from the demon-scales! It also seems more realistic, I'm NOT more than half fat! I can tell that just by looking in the mirror.

                        So.... I am a much happier me today

                        Oh.. I took a photo of the hair this morning, will load it up when I post tonight.

                          • Howdy folks!

                            I am feeling super-chipper today! I don't know if it's the return of dairy and eggs to my diet that's making me happy, or if it's the huge range of suppliments I've been taking to combat my hypothyroid, but whatever it is I feel great and my energy seems to be returning.. WooHoo!!

                            As promised... here is the hair. I don't know how to shrink photos so I fear this is going to be a very large pic of my face. Please ignore the large pores and million freckles



                            Here's a photo of the other blonde in the family, This is Charlie with his "yes I may be cute and curly, but I'm a boy and here are my balls" pose...



                            Today I found a new range of raw milk cheeses at my local farmers market. They are flavoured chedders, I bought tomato and olive, and a chilli one. They also have some divine looking ones like cranberry and port and black pepper. I cannot wait to start digging in!



                            I bought some budgeting software today from youneedabudget.com and have spent most of the afternoon filling in all the expenses that I can think of. I'm also reading Dave Ramsey's 'Total Money Makeover' as I really need some help to get ahead financially.
                            As a single mum who's still a student and only works part-time, money is not flowing freely to say the least but I know I could be smarter with it. So thanks to D.R.'s recommendation and example, I'm gonna try and get myself moving forward rather than just treading water. I'm lucky in that I have no credit cards or loans except for a quite modest HECS debt (for the non-aussies, that's what you borrow from the government to pay for your university fees, you're required to pay it back at quite a low-interest rate once you begin earning over a certain amount of money). However, I still rent and I would like to buy a house one day!

                            Food:

                            Breaky - I had some of my beautiful fatty lamb stir-fried with chicory. I'd never eaten it before and the grocer was out of kale. It was a little more bitter than kale but still fairly tasty, mind you I think my socks would be pretty tasty if I fried them up in that pastured lamb fat

                            Lunch - Leftover crock-pot curried lamb shank meat spooned into a red capsicum and baked.

                            Dinner - A rib-eye steak and sauerkraut with a baked sweet potato and lotsa broccoli.

                            Exercise - Mmmm. I will get back into it tomorrow, now that I have more energy I actually feel ready to start up again... Pull up rings here I come
