    January Goals
    1. No namesakes during the week, minimal on weekends. Again. Still. Always.
    2. REALLY Increase workouts
    3. Shift my sleep cycle earlier
    4. De-clutter my house
    5. Enjoy Jamaica!!! (without feeling self conscious about my body)

Hey, your goals are a lot like mine (minus the Jamaica part)

Looks like a good plan, do you have a strategy for staying the course? I'm still working on mine.

In the afternoon we went to my parents for the ‘last’ Christmas dinner.

While I was there, my (Ottawa) sister (who ran a 10km on New Years Eve) asked my other sister and me if we wanted to run a 5/10km in April.

I think I said yes… (this might belong under stupid mistakes...)

Oh, yeah, my Jan 1st stats.
Well, I didn’t lose any weight, BUT I didn’t gain any weight either…

I measured and somehow I lost ˝” off my stomach (but that can change multiple times throughout the day) AND ˝” off my thigh!!! (I only measure my right thigh – I assume that I also lost the same from my left…)

            Well, I'm not a runner yet...nor have I ever been a runner...can one walk and sprint a 5 k ?
The 5k. NO way I could do the 10.
There is a 2.5 - but my 13 year old niece is doing that one.
Foolish pride and 3 glasses of red wine made me say 5...

I have NO idea how to prepare for this...

The race registration is at the Running Room. So I will check it out when I register.

                • happy new year wnc. so... a 5k run eh! You might be surprised and find that when you start running you start to lose some of the actual weight rather than just your inches. (good on that front, go girl) I hate running though.

good new years reso's. The only one I've really made is to ensure that I have a water glass in front of me whenever I have a wine.... wherever I go, be it at a friends place or at a bar. If I have the water there, I'll be more inclined to drink it rather than reach for the bottle to fill up an empty wine glass. I'm not saying i'll cut out drinking, just drink a bit less hopefully!

Yay for you, not long to jamaica now!!!

Bed at 11:30 am but my Farmer was snoring until about midnight, and it didn’t matter how many times I poked him…

I woke at 8 and dozed until 9:30

My Father in Law called. (I was going to go over and sit with my Mother in Law while my son went with my Father in Law to the hospital to have a stitch removed from his neck – they had removed a cancer spot) The hospital called about my Mother in Law’s arm. They wanted to see her today.

So, I left home at 10:30 and drove them both to one city to get the stitches removed and then drove them to another city to see the surgeon.

The surgeon has decided to replace the ball joint on her shoulder.
                            Tomorrow.

                            I’m taking them.

We left the hospital at 5 and stopped at Red Lobster for supper.

I’m now working on a 125g package of Dark Chocolate covered Cranberries…

                            • Nasty turn of events for your MIL, good that you are available to be there for them. Hope she recovers quickly from the surgery, maybe you can bring her some good primal food so she doesn't have to eat the hospital crap.

I would be eating the chocolate too. This evening we had some trouble with one of the kids, and I'm really wanting a glass of wine right now...
