      Happy anniversary... haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy anniversary. (I love driving the spellchecker crazy.)

        • Um, the long weekend.
          There was wine, booth burger (bun-less) booth ice cream, hot tub, moving boxes, more wine, more packing, deep fried wonton wrappers, home rolled sushi, Pad Thai, more wine...

          ~~~~
          Tuesday
          I took University Son shopping. He was in desperate need of jeans and T-shirts. I also had to buy my Daughter a new lunch bag 'cause when my sisters were over helping me clean out the laundry room they threw hers out. (See - that's the 2nd time that I've thrown out something and someone asks for it the VERY NEXT DAY! And people wonder WHY I have a hard time de-cluttering)
          Wednesday
          My Father in Law called around 8am. My 83 year old MiL fell on Monday. Tuesday she was really sore (could barely move) but their doctor wasn't in and they wanted to WAIT until they could call him to see what they should do. Can you BELIEVE it?? So my FiL wanted to know if I could come over to help them, in-case the doctor thought they should go to the hospital. OF COURSE I went over! He had to wait till about 9:30 until the doctor's office answered the phone. Meanwhile my MiL can't get out of bed, 'cause it hurts too much. Of course the doctor said go for x-rays. I convinced him to call the ambulance 'cause there was NO way we could get her safely down the stairs (I don't know HOW they got her UP the stairs) Of course, she had to get dressed before they came...The ambulance guys carried her downstairs in a lift chair and took her to the hospital. We followed in the car. FiL stopping to buy LIGHT BULBS on the way.
          Really. Light bulbs.
          They x-rayed her hips. No breaks or fractures, just pulled muscles in her groin. They helped us load her into the car and we went home. On the way my FiL actually asked her if she wanted to go straight home or if she wanted to stop at the restaurant for lunch! Can you BELIEVE it???
          University Son met us at the house to help her get inside. We had 3 steps to go up. A man on each side and I had to bend down and lift up her leg for each step 'cause she couldn't lift it. They'd borrowed a friend's 4 wheel walker and she sat in it once we were inside the door.
          Later in the afternoon we brought over a spare twin bed and set it up for her in the living room.
          Parents.
          Thursday
          Ex College Son (still gotta come up with a name) brought home 37 boxes from the grocery store. I packed 8 this morning. This afternoon my Farmer and I went over to the new house and painted the old rough basement walls. The walls sucked up the paint. It took FOREVER. We are not done, but my back is. I have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow morning.
          Tonight I went to a "audition" for a local playhouse. For a non-acting job. The director is a good friend, we'd actually worked in the same video production company together. Anyway. I am now the Stage Manager. Another good friend, artist and past member of the same production company is the Art Director. The play is in December. It's called "My Son is Crazy - But Promising" by Tim Kelly.
          I know I don't have time right now for this, the Director knows that I will be unavailable for the next 2 weeks but she's excited that I'm going to be involved. I'm excited about it too. I'm WAY past due for a creative "outlet"
          • Oy vey. Different priorities, but lightbulbs? Really?
            My favorite story of this variety came from my neighbor who thought he was having a heart attack, so he drove himself to the emergency room (!) and on the way, decided to get a cheeseburger (!!) because he didn't think they would let him eat anything good for a while if he WAS having a heart attack (he wasn't, luckily).
            Glad nothing was broken. That is always such a concern as people get older. But non-breaks sometimes take even longer to get over, it seems. And with no cast to 'help out'.
            Good job on all this packing and clearing. You are a MACHINE!
            • My goodness. Never a dull moment around your place, is there? It must be a relief when it happens. Stage manager sounds like fun.
              And yes, I believe your FIL. And your MIL. I suspect I will be a little like them, if I'm not already. We tend to downplay discomfort and keep soldiering on, to the point where it can get ridiculous.
                        I also found the MOST EXCELLENT chocolate!! They roast, grind and make it right in the shop!!
                        I'm never buying chocolate anywhere else!!!
                        Afternoon: I took Lily back to the vet for her ear checkup and a blood draw.
                        Saturday.
                        I missed a couple of items, but spent about $500 and dank some wine.
                        Sunday
                          • You've been rather busy! I'm guessing there is more packing going on, I can't imagine having to do that myself. Our moves are covered by work, so the packers come in for 2 days and pack the entire house, then a full day to load the truck, and that's it. Getting ready for that is enough for me!
                            Do tell more about that chocolate you found.
                              TONS of packing! Movers. Nice. But I'm not sure how I'd feel about someone packing up my 'stuff'. Our friends are going to help us on 'moving day' to move the big things.
                              The chocolate. Wow.
                              • Monday
                                Evidently 5 hours of painting is too much for my back At about 4pm it started seizing up
                                I had to go out and work at the booth from 5-8. I dropped a few things on the floor. They stayed there until XCollege Son came to pick me up. I couldn't even lean out of the truck to pull the door shut
                                I don't want to talk about what I ate while I was out there.
                                It's a very good thing I don't have to work there every day...I would weigh Q
                                Tuesday
                                Another trip into London to visit the chiropractor and the chocolate store I found a new battery for XCollege Son's old phone and reactivated it for him (Until he saves enough $ for an iPhone again) I bought another Yoga Rat towel from Home Sense. I love these towels! They are so thin but SO absorbent! I bought one last week and it's the only towel I want to use! I stopped at a storage solutions store and they could build me a closet system for only $550!! Yikes! I'll build my own. (Well, my Farmer will build me one) I picked up a 2nd pail of paint and some electrical boxes.
                                After supper we went over to the new house. I painted some wood boards (for trim) and my Farmer put in some extra outlets and a light for my closet. By the time I'd finished the trim, my back was DONE. SO much for the chiro trip...well, at least I got some chocolate
                                Today turned into an IF day. I thought I'd wait till I was hungry to eat. I "broke my fast" at 5. Even with chocolate in my purse!!
