The Coogee Bay Hotel! Memories come flooding back of my Uni drinking days. That place is filled with English backpackers and ...drunk beach people. Great spot. You should come back - summer is starting..

In case my comment didnt make sense, when I am signed in the avatars are off, so I was referring to a photo of you at the markets. I did strike me when I pressed send, that it would be a dumb thing to say if you have your photo in your avatar.

Changed your mind re cableguy? I was impressed how you dealt with that, particularly the - hell, come and chat then. Does this mean I should take back my nasty comment about the 70s porno 'stache?!

Haha, yeah. English backpackers for sure. I liked the Malabar area, seemed a little more 'real'. There used to be this seagull at Coogee that didn't have any feet and would lay on the sand. Everyone would take pictures of him and feed him. I was unfortunately there the day the giant grouper that lived around coogee was speared by some pomie bastard - so it has been a while since I've had a good visit.

As to your comment, I think I knew what you meant. My avatar is not my market picture.

Cableguy and I have been messaging back and forth, he seems like an ok guy. He only lives about an hour from me. I really think he just came off wrong and is well intentioned. When I saw he was only an hour away, I figured that what is lost in the written sense is gained in the personal. I like to think that my thoughts or views on things can be changed with solid, new information. Afterall, this is how I became primal in the first place. :-)

As to taking comments back, I'm not one to apologize. What comes out comes out - it's in the past. You can only create in the present and make new decisions there.

What part of Sydney are you in? I used to love going out in Sydney and crushing English backpackers at Pool (See they think I'm a stupid american - I used that stereotype to my advantage many times. Personally I never ran into many americans and think ozzies have a harsher opinion of the english... hehe).

Like the way you think. When it comes to reacting to people, I need to switch off the black/white mode and chill into shades of grey.

I am on the lower North Shore, so its nice but I used to live Coogee way and it has a great culture. Oh no, the grouper - I think that actually made the news because he was part of the scenery. boo! I have been scuba diving around Sydney and there are lots of groupers with bits missing. Bloody spear divers.

Oh yes, the English are ever-present (itching to use a few words but don't want to spark an international incident even tho I wouldn't mean it and it was be a gross generalisation) and we whip their ass in most sports but Americans are exotic - just the way it is. Esp in an area that is constantly flooded by English backpackers!

I am gonna give that pumpkin soup a go!

@Mog - did I mention I actually 'understand' cricket and find it fun? I even played a bit while I was there. I think it was more of an oddity like 'Oh look the american is learning cricket!'. I'm not a bad side bowler, though to be fair I was bowling against computer geeks from UNSW. The pumpkin soup is really tasty, you can use any large squash as a substitute. Also made some redpepper soup recently, I believe those will be in season for you soon.

So after the monthly MDA challenge, I took a break from the site. I think it was a little much and I prefer the regular pace of MDA. I personally have taken a huge break for the past 10 days regarding exercise. I only lifted heavy things once, and did two very lite move slowly often days. With the seasonal change, I just needed a recharge and rest I think. This has paid off a great deal in my return to training at the boxing ring yesterday. I felt more powerful and attuned. The stupid bag was fun to play with for the first time ever, I was crushing the heavy bag, and in hitting drills, I landed 3 solid jab head shots (jab to head for a round training - i still feel bad hitting my friends and when I hit them once I stop out of concern), and my pullups were executed smoothly instead of frantically. I am a little sore today, but not in a bad way so feeling great about yesterday's workout. Since the cold weather started, I through on my 'sweat' pants that didn't fit last year to only discover they are now falling off of me. I'm down over 52lbs now (thats 23.5 kg) since I started the primal blueprint way of life on April 22nd, 2010.

That KK burger looks good, but I'd use one donut slit in half instead of two whole ones. That would reduce the carbs and make it more primal, right?

That's something I'd have to have just once. I'd just eat if after a super long and brutal workout.

Personally, I think they should have used the Krispy Kreme Cheerwine jelly filled donut. I can tell you that in person, the smell was a mix of awful.

I realized something about myself. Something this week sorta got me down, depressed for a bit even. I wasn't really noticing it - but suddenly I had a craving to eat something. So I did, but I was still 'hungry' for something but couldn't figure out what it was. So I thought maybe it was something sweet, so I ate a piece of dark chocolate, still hungry, I treated myself to a whole milk latte. Still fail. I bought a whole chicken from the Co-op. I ate that and was still hungry, but I was full. no flavor or amount of food would suffice.

When I realized it was because I was neglecting to think about the thing that was bugging me, I suddenly stopped being hungry.

                    Duldrum triggered hunger .. perhaps.

I've had days like that too. I'll eat so much meat that I'm completely stuffed, but still *hungry*. But I'm too stuffed to eat. But I'm still hungry. Weird.

BTW, I just read the 52 lbs thing - missed it the first time through. That's awesome work, man. Keep it up!

                        Hey Thanks!

Regarding the hunger thing - I thought maybe my hunger was being triggered by some depression/hunger thing, but after today - I'm pretty sure that's not the case based on some recent things. Maybe it has something to do with the change in season and cold weather starting?

I'm glad Halloween is over .. and all the candy is gone. I think total I ate 25 pieces of candy corn in October. Crazy!

Looking forward to Thanksgiving and an All Primal Feast!

Have taken a 10 day break from MDA. amazing! I still remember how to be primal!

Have dialed in how to get the grill going quickly, made some excellent mash rutabega.

Weight loss has hit a plateau for now. I lose 1 more pound for the last 3 weeks. I have been a tad more lazy, perhaps it's that season change/daylight thing. Work is interfering more. I have been lifting heavy things as a result.

Need to get back on some kinda running things again.

@Mog I added another 10 day break from MDA Journal posting! Haven't weighed myself since. I think it's the season change thing going on.

Still sore from boxing on Sunday.

It's Thanksgiving in America. This year .. it's all primal and i'm up early to get started on the turkey b/c it's HUGE!

10 White Castle hamburgers, no pickles
                              1 1/2 cups celery, diced
                              1 1/4 tsp. ground thyme
                              1 1/2 tsp. ground sage
3/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
                              1/4 cup chicken broth

In a large mixing bowl, tear the burgers into pieces and add diced celery and seasonings. Toss and add chicken broth. Toss well. Stuff cavity of turkey just before roasting. Makes about 9 cups (enough for a 10- to 12-pound turkey). Note: Allow 1 hamburger for each pound of turkey, which will be the equivalent of 3/4 cup of stuffing per pound.

I have been away from the forums for a while, I'm nearing a year!

Weight has only changed slightly, frankly I haven't had as much time for training but eating primal has never been easier.

My biggest let down right now are the fact that my spring seasonal allergies have resurfaced, albeit not nearly as bad - but they are back. Perhaps I should still spend less time outdoors in April.

I'm also looking at a new goal for August - to complete the warrior dash!

Anyone else in NC up for this? Heck I'd be interested in travelling to PA to do that one
