You are doing well! You days are starting to look more and more like mine. I slowly started to drop the number of meals each day and also the stuff in between.

A good fatty meal can keep you going for a long time.

It can be quite weird to go half a day (or more) without being hungry, especially after years of being hungry every hour or two!

          The "Seven Deadly Sins"

          Grains (wheat/rice/oats etc) . . . . . Dairy (milk/yogurt/butter/cheese etc) . . . . . Nightshades (peppers/tomato/eggplant etc)
          Tubers (potato/arrowroot etc) . . . Modernly palatable (cashews/olives etc) . . . Refined foods (salt/sugars etc )
          Legumes (soy/beans/peas etc)

I'm getting in the same direction, meals are fewer for me as well. I think my evening snack is mostly habitual now, working on phazing it out.

Good you have you all to share with, since "other people" have a hard time understanding the benefits!!

                  Just a suggestion:

Get yourself some coconut milk and learn to make some Thai curry with the veggies - I think Mark has a recipe on the site somewhere. It will greatly increase your choices. It's also great for making sauces to go with meat. See http://www.freetheanimal.com/root/20...rry-sauce.html

                  Good luck.

                            Today is DAY 30!

Lost 10lbs of fat -- no lean mass lost at all. Upper Abs starting to show again (was a loss earlier this year) --I measured incorrectly on my initial post (was reading wrong chart) I went from approx. 14/16% back down to 10/12%.

My goal is to reach single digits or at least until my lower abs show.

I have to say that the 30 days were pretty easy! My body adapted quickly and my concern over "bonking" was laid to rest considering to lower amount of carbs.

One of the biggest 'eye-openers' for me was the lack of hunger throughout the day and how simple it was to skipped a meal here and there without having to worry about it -which was stressful to me in the past.

I will continue to share my journey here as I move forward toward my goal/s.

That's so awesome that you had so many improvements in your first 30 days! I'm just now starting and wondering about the desire to snack... Even if I'm not hungry sometimes I just feel like eating (even if I don't give in to that feeling)... I am hoping that's a result of having so much insulin floating around in my body and that it will go away as my insulin levels drop.

Had you experienced that at all?

Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.

The first few days were the toughest, I craved just about every grain I've ever eaten! and once my insulin levels were below the radar I pretty much felt fine (I was in a moderate state of Ketosis the whole time -used KETOSTIX to check)even with the fruit intake -which amazed me, and on strength training days I noted a heavier state of ketosis.

Seems to me it was more a battle of the mind!
