DCKMB: Nope, he doesn't but he's used to seeing me eat differently for the last 3 weeks.

suz38487: I hope so. But I have a feeling it'll take him at least a year to realize that there's some change in me, other than weight loss, because of my diet.

Skipping b/f was a bad idea - gave me the munchies and ended up eating lots of nuts. I had a mild-headache in the afternoon, something I would have dismissed pre-primal, but I was wondering if eating the gyro gave me it - might be some preservatives or additives.

I agree with you about the kale chips, maba. And I don't like kale any other way, but I love the chips! Looks like you're doing great!

Hey Maba. Wow, I thought I was depriving myself at 1600-1900 calories a day in an attempt to lose weight, but yours is some serious calorie reduction.

I have a question about the kale chips. I made some today--they're delicious--and I'm wondering how to count the nutrition ingredients. How did you do it? FitDay, which I use, only has listings for raw kale, which is heavier than chips. How did you count it?

                      Thanks!

Agnieszka, I'm pretty sure my FitDay calorie calculation is incorrect. I approximate the amounts. I still don't know how much meat I eat in terms of ounces, I eat about 1-2 cups of meat. I enter the amount as 3 oz. Infact, on another thread someone told me my intake was too low but I tried to add more fat, more meat but that's about all I can eat. I must invest in a kitchen scale to guage my intake accurately.

As for the Kale chips, I used the uncooked amount. About 3 cups of raw kale on baking amounted to a small cup of chips. Added 1 tsp olive oil to account for the fat. I hope that helps.

                          Thanks, yes, it does help.

I just bought a scale yesterday and I'm surprised at how off I'd been without it.

It does seem that you might be unintentionally underreporting meat, because 1-2 cups is usually more than 3 oz, by the way.

For measuring the amount of meat, to better estimate, look at the total amount listed on the packaging and guestimate how much of a percentage of the meat you are taking in, ie 1.02 Lb steak, and you cut it in half so half of that, etc. I used to do that until I got a scale, now when I check I realize I was usually right.

also 1-2 cups of meat is definitely more than 3 oz... but then again depending on what kind of meat.

I have a calorie intake problem. I take in far too little. I only eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full so that usually means that my only meal in the day is at around 3 or 4 pm. And I average around 1300 calories a day (on a heavy day). I'm not sure if I should be worried, but I feel fine. No headaches, no feeling like I'm starved, and a lot more energetic than usual.

                            Good diary. Keep it up.
