  • Primal Challenge Journal (SMC2009)



    Dailies:

    Breakfast=1 fried egg + 3 pieces ham

    Snack= 1 cup blueberries + 1/4 cup walnuts

    Lunch=big o' salad with 1/2 cup blueberries, hardboilded egg and 1/4 cup EVOO/Bal. Vinegar & Fish Sauce dressing.

    Snack=1 cup blueberries +1/4 cup almonds

    Dinner=4oz steak+ 1 cup broc. + 1/2 cup snap peas.


    WOD:4 mile easy jog.

    Primal Fun: Blueberry picking.

    Day 2

    Dailies:

    B=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 3/4c blueberries.

    S= 1/4c Almonds and 1 pink lady apple

    L= Big O Salad w/ 4 oz. steak

    S= banana+protein shake

    D= 1 1/2c ginger chicken + snap peas stir fry

    S= 3/4 frozen blue berries


    WOD: 4 mile easy jog

    Primal Fun: Walk around the neighborhood. National Block Party day. (Instead of eating hotdogs and cake, foraged neighbors plum tree.)

      Dailies:

      Coffee Break = Starbucks Grande Americano (decalf - dash of cinn.)

      S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 3/4c blueberries.

      L= Big O Salad w/ 4 oz. steak

      S= 1/4c Almonds and 1 pink lady apple

      D= 1 1/2c ginger chicken + snap peas stir fry


      WOD: 4 mile easy jog


      Primal Fun: Will try to add pushups, pullups, etc to my workout routine tonight at the kid park.

        Day 4

        Dailies:

        B= Protein Powder Shake + Banana (300cal)

        Coffee Break = Starbucks Grande Americano (decalf - dash of cinn.)

        S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 3/4c blueberries.

        L= 1 1/2 Ginger Chicken + snap peas stir fry

        S= 1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 3/4c blueberries.

        Primal Challenge Status: Feeling a little low energy. Didn't add the pushups, pullups, etc. to my workout routine. My easy jog had me pretty beat all week. But I think I am losing weight which is good!

          Primal Challenge Status: Yes, my routine is a bit dull. Food and work out to repetitive. Probably should not be eating ham nor greek yogert.

            Day 6 & 7

            Dailes:


            Food has been good.

            Maybe a little too much dairy.


            WOD: Rest weekend.


            Primal Challenge Status: Tricky weekend. Went camping. Food stayed primal with the exception of wine and some corn on the cob. Perhaps a little high in calories since my excercise consisted of rowing a canoe.

              Dailies:

              B= two egss with 3 pieces ham

              S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 3/4c blueberries.

              L= 1/2 avocado + cottage cheese + necterine.

              S= necterine + almonds

              D= meat 4oz. + veggies


              WOD: 4 mile easy jog

                Day ? Aug. 17

                Dailies:

                B= protein shake

                S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 1 peach

                L= Big 'o Salad (blueberries + 1/4 nuts)

                S= peach

                D= meat 4oz. + corn on the cob


                WOD: 4 mile easy jog

                  Aug. 18

                  Dailies:

                  C= Decalf Americano (black)

                  B= 4oz grilled salmon with 1 fried egg over easy.

                  S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + 1 peach

                  C= 16oz Decalf Latte (non-fat moo)

                  L= Big 'o Salad 4oz grilled salmon

                  C= 16oz Decalf Latte (non-fat moo)

                  S= peach + 1/4cup almonds

                  D= meat (grilled Chicken 4oz. + corn on the cob


                  Ok, Ok, I know the corn on the cob is a no-go but it's August! Also, not sure about all the dairy. Today was off the charts with all the coffee. (Lot's or work meetings) Need to put an end to corn and dairy. (Except the greek yogert that I love)

                    Aug 24

                    Dailies:

                    C= Decalf Americano (black)

                    B= 2 fried eggs over medium with 2oz pork chop

                    S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + rasp.

                    L= 5oz chicken breast + 1/2 cup white beans + 1/4 c stewed tomatoes.

                    S= peach + 1/4cup almonds

                    D= seafood/sausage gumbo + 1/2 corn on the cob + 1/2 c zuc


                    Ok, Ok, again with the corn...but and the greek yogurt. One big plus is my friend totally prepared the Primal dinner. I didn't want to go because I thought it would be difficult to avoid grains...but it was no problem with some very minor changes!


                    WOD: No exercise

                      Dailies:

                      C= Decalf Americano (black)

                      B= 2 fried eggs over medium + 4 slices shaved ham + 1/2 avocado.

                      S=1c greek yogurt + 1/4 cup walnuts + blackberries

                      L= 4oz steak + 1/2 avocado + salad (EVOL + Balsamic Vinegar dressing)

                      S= 1/4cup almonds

                      D= Porkchop + 1/2 zuc. + 1/2 string beans.


                      WOD: Will attempt some sprinting exercise tonight. New reserch published regarding the significant weight loss of interval training vs. steady.

                          Hi SassaFrass88...thanks for dropping by. You're in the south end correct? Have you tried Cross Fit? A new one opened in W.Seattle. Blocks from my house and I'd like to give it a try but I don't like parting with so much money every month...this is where my primal meets cheap-ass! Hmmm...just wanted to know if you've tried it and like the results. It seems very popular amongst the Apples!
