      I'd rather buy him a drink. I like it when my idioms make it into the common vernacular. Sounds like he probably came up with that one independently. Great minds think alike!

        OP you've taken some hits from a few others because your post is classic rookie in the weight room expecting dramatic overnight results. Giving up on stronglifts after 1 week you have to expect some negative responses.

        Anyway I saw you acknowledged you need to work on your strength so you're back on the right track.

        At your current strength levels you could easily get a lot out of SS for at least 6-12 months. After that a nice transition would be Madcows 5x5 to milk some more linear strength progression. After 6-12 months of Madcow that would bring you to about 1.5-2 years worth of linear strength gains and you should be a very solid intermediate lifter. From there you can decide which intermediate programs make sense for you.

        Thats my 2 cents. Good luck with it. Remember to eat big otherwise you wont see any gains.
