  • Strength for distance runner

I hope this is the right part of the forum for this question.
    I am a distance runner(10Km) racer.
I am losing weight on primal and it's awesome. But I WANT TO LOSE FAT, not lose weight...stomach really but need to focus on whole body effort.
Can anybody suggest a program to help my running as well as help with body composition? Thanks

    5 ft 10 165lbs Male 22

Need to get this sorted out ASAP

    1. Eat primally. This will help you lose extra fat.
    2. Avoid overtraining, especially long runs that will cannibalize your lean muscle. These types of runs also increase cortisol, which triggers storage.
    3. Get adequate rest for recovery.
    4. Walk hard. This will build your aerobic ability, as opposed to the anaerobic that you will normally work when running.
    5. Lift heavy things and sprint.

In short, read the Primal Blueprint and do what it says.

You can get everything you need here. It is just handy to have the book.
        Ancestral Health Info

I design websites and blogs for a living. If you would like a blog or website designed by someone who understands Primal, see my web page.

Primal Blueprint Explorer My blog for people who are not into the Grok thing. Since starting the blog, I have moved close to being Archevore instead of Primal. But Mark's Daily Apple is still the best source of information about living an ancestral lifestyle.

            Crossfit Endurance

Training plan for runners who don't want to LOSE strength. Fits in well with the primal lifestyle. It is not chronic cardio and encourages you to lift heavy.
