bumping this coz i did some reverse lunges from a deficit w/barbell
Performance U. Fitness Continuing Education | Lunge Exercise: Top 5 Lunge Variations

except i used the bottom step of the steps under the pull up bar at the gym and 2 x 10kg kettle bells. 3 sets of 20. ie 10 on each leg supersetted with dumbbell bench press. they were way harder than normal heavy lunges with big dumbbells.

i am gonna try the fighter's lunges next. then the offset lunges and some overhead lunges.

Single-arm dumbbell overhead lunge--way harder than lunges where you hold two dumbbells at your side, for me, anyway. Single Arm Overhead Lunge - YouTube

You can also do the same thing with squats--that's hard as well.

i do single arm OH squats and they are definitely menacing. with normal OH squats i usually just spend my time trying to balance the bar vs feeling the squat. for the single arm ones, i use a measly 10kg dumbbell in the front and OH Press a 5kg dumbbell and it is horrific lol single arm OH lunge was my next plan for the gym next week as they have a way better range of dumbbells than i do.

bumping this. i supersetted OH one arm lunges with dumbbell bench press and actually couldnt do the last 2 of my last set of bench press which is unheard of. so the OH lunges kick full body. i was only using a 6kg weight too!

Lunges with a dumbbell on the side opposite of the working leg. Additionally, two dumbbells with the heavier on the side opposite of the working leg. Good stuff.
