One of our Primal directives is to lift some heavy stuff every now and then. But not everyone likes to spend time in a gym. One of the alternatives is to use single limb bodyweight exercises.
And the "King" of them all is the Pistol Squat. It's an awesome full body exercise that requires not only strength but also coordination, timing, balance and mobility.
Although it's not an exercise that is immediately accessible to everyone, there are tricks for breaking down the level of difficulty / sophistication. I've posted a few examples on my blog for working up to the coveted pistol squat.
