This is also my goal for 2013 - cannot for the life of me imagine I will ever be able to pull myself up - but gonna work hard at it - I will do it!

Back in the days of my youth, I had this vision of the "5-300" club. In the same day, run a 5:00 mile and max bench 300. My personal best mile was 5:03 and my max bench is 270...not at the same time.

The challenge was in the training.Inevitablly training for one sacrified the other. Not sure it is possible....outside some of these NFL freaks.

Press 150 (not likely), bench 200, power clean 200, squat 350, deadlift 400

Currently (all 3 sets of 5, except power cleans 5 sets of 3):
        Press 95, bench 145, power clean 145, squat 270, deadlift 295 (1 set of 5)

        Also 15 strict pull-ups (currently ~5-6)

Add me, I want to do over 60 push-ups in one go. I know I can get there if I just train consistently. I KNOW I can be at least 20% cooler!

Ok I think I've added everyone who wants to be.

@ Chaloey - those are some big numbers

@ Knifegill - where you at now? I've manged 50, but then decieded I wasn't going lowing enough so I'm down to about 30 with better form now.
You know all those pictures of Adam and Eve where they have belly button? Think about it..................... take as long as you need........................

They're goals for the year, gotta aim high. Besides, the farthest I am from any is about 100lb. That's only 10lb a month

You make a good point, I look at my goals and I am far away, but there is still over 11 months left to work on them

It's the squat and deadlift figures that look massive to me, I want to be able to OH press my bodyweight, in a handstand preferably, but working up to it with a sandbag as well as body weight legs up on kitchen work-top. I can see myself being able to bench 200lbs, but deadlifting 400, that seems huge. I've only just started to deadlift though, so I'm on low weight for 2 reasons 1) to practice form, and most importantly 2) I only have one 25kg sand bag

Thankfully, I was taught good push-up form as a child, and have always gone to the floor! I usually max out between 35 and 40, depending on rest, etc. Speed is a huge deal-breaker, since I'm a fan of slow reps and can thoroughly enjoy 10 mind-bendingly slow pushups. But if I'm going for numbers, quick reps are clearly the only option.

The first time I put 220lbs on the bar and did a set of five, the rest of my workout was blown because it was so heavy that I just got instantly tired. If you just take it slow and keep at it, you'll get there. The other day I did a set of 286lbs times 6, followed by a single at 309lbs.

So keep at it, and you'll get there

My demon, which I'd love to slay in 2013, is the elusive front planch. Been trying for a solid 3 years -- no luck so far.

I'd also like to beat my PR in our local 15K (the Utica Boilermaker), and qualify for the Boston Marathon (gonna run a qualifier in late summer I think, Montreal most likely).

And of course there are several things I hope to climb.

                              Deadlift 400 lbs!

For those attempting their first pull-up...try training with unassisted negatives.

                              Good luck.

                                ADDED

unassisted negatives are a really good method, but you need to be able to control the drop not just fall, defo part of the progress but not everyone starting will be able to straight into negatives. Flex hangs for about 2 seconds were all I could manage this time last year. Power holds are also good and negatives with a band would also work as part of the progression.

There was a really good guest post a few months back about the benifits of negative reps in training I'll try to find it and linky when I've slept (its late here)
