  • How Long Does It Take You to Workout?

    Hey guys,

I'm following a high-intensity strength training workout program. It only takes me 45 minutes to workout, but it's REALLY hard. I do supersets of 4 exercises (squats, dumb bell overhead presses, pullups, and burpees) with 1-2 minutes of rest in between.

I'm adding more and more weight each we, so I do rest longer between supersets because it's so tiring, but I'm wondering how long you guys spend in the gym.

    Best,
    Raza

It takes me an hour and a half. :/

Partially because working out is a stress reliever so I make my stay at the gym as long as I can. My one concern is that this pushes me to overwork my body.

Yeah, I can understand it being a stress reliever. What kind of stuff are you doing in the gym for that long? I guess it all depends on what you're doing.

It takes me about 2 hours, but if you only focus on the basic lifts which is very effective 45 minutes sounds right. Though if it gets heavier you will have to rest longer
              well then

I do 3-6 sets of bodyweight exercise about every day. I do them while I'm busy with other things around the house, so net time is maybe 5 to 10 minutes. No travel time, no waiting for equipment, no changing clothes, no shower needed.

30-45min. 90min - 2 hours seems very long to me... what the heck are you guys doing?

I did 9 months of SS with poor results, and on top of that I kind of injured my lower back by doing goodmorning squats but I wanted to keep training so changed to P.H.A.T (at least for the moment) which is about 1,5-2,5 hrs per workout
                      well then

Strength training 35 minutes. People could probably cut out 50% of the crap they do in their lifting workout. After reading Beyond Brawn, I made a concerted effort to minimize my workouts. And the last 6 months I have seen more growth and strength and I'm doing way less.

Anything other than going for a walk I'm done in 15-20 minutes MAX....Thats for any of my routines. Actually here is this weeks breakdown.

Thursday: Big 5 BBS routine 15 minutes

Sunday: Deadlifts 5x5 took about 15 minutes

Today: HIIT 8x30sec with 1 minute active rest ...12 minutes

Walked the dog and went for jogs on other days, but I don't time that. Its all part of my normal DLA's.

Hour long + workouts? Holy sh1t guys.

My workouts are usually between 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I'll hit 7-10 minute workout hard.
