  • Alright, this was a rough day, but some of the most fun I've had...

Got up at 7am and "competed" in a 5k on a whim. Did it in 25m flat. Not bad for not running for over a year (just BBS and some swim sprints)

Walked 5 miles ...bout 3 of them was pushing 70 pounds worth of worn out kiddos in the stroller.

Spent an hour teaching my five year old how to skip a rock on a lake. Dad is the records may have fallen with the number of skips I made after about 50 or 60 warm up throws.

All in all it was a good day

Only one comment.....the more intense my workout the less likely I would be to eat within the vicinity of 4 hours prior to it. Then again I have a long history of working out fasted.

      • Soccer tournament all day. Six 40 minute games full field. We won the tournament, but wow. Chronic cardio much! Had a blast though, wish I could do it every wkend

        • Another run, another bike ride. Running does not come easy....
If you are new to the PB - please ignore ALL of this stuff, until you've read the book, or at least and this (personal fave):

Good point. I was influenced more than anything by Tim's notes in The 4 Hour Body where he says that protein takes around an hour to get into the bloodstream and if he was to take a protein shake, he'd need to drink it an hour before exercise.

It didn't feel uncomfortable at the time apart from not being used to the 20kg bell. My legs were aching after and still are today, which isn't unpleasant.

            • Today was one hour surf ski paddle in very choppy conditions, really worked the core and hips with the balance. This was followed by two hours (my first time ever) on the ice rink ice skating. Feeling pretty stuffed tonight. Was going to do a KB workout but lamb roast and a glass of wine and lie on the coach is going to win tonight.....

              • Threw the hammer/discus for about an hour. Playing lacrosse later tonight. Both very new games for me, and loving it:-)

                • After a couple of days with a stiff back, felt good enough to do a "I need to do something so I don't feel like I'm atrophying and turning into a blob" workout.

                  Walked the dog 2 miles

                  Hammer Strength Incline Press 2x8
                  Prone Incline Rows 2x8
                  Press 2x8
                  Lat Pull Downs 2x8
                  Smith Machine Squats 2x8

Overall felt pretty good. Will probably just do workouts like this and conditioning workouts until next week.

                  • Hi guys!

Today I walked two miles and worked on my Convict Conditioning:

                    Vertical pulls: 2 x 41
                    Knee tucks: 2 x 11
                    Wall push ups: 2 x 41
                    Jack knife squats: 2 x 11

I'll do a third set of each when my husband comes home after work. We like to train together when we can.

                      • Ha-ha-ha. People have names for everything. I feel like I'm in a foreign country when I read this thread. Here's what I did:

Rode my bike to the park. Jumped up and did a lot of chin-ups on the rings. Swung like a monkey with one arm clinging, back and forth until my elbows started to hurt. Tried to do a muscle-up three times in a row but I can't get my weight over my arms, so it ended up just being three intense, slow chin-ups. Worked my way back and forth across the long bar from which the rings hang, hand over hand until I knew I'd done enough. Then I just hung in the center, on a whim, for the first time ever, for as long as I possibly could. I was shifting from hand to hand, flexing my shoulders, trying everything to eke out a few more seconds, then I knew I had to drop. So I did. Then I jumped up there after a little rest and did the hang again, just clinging for life like a monkey over a crocodile. Oh, wow! My arms are totally exhausted!

Rode my bike around for another twenty minutes. Hung again from a metal pole on a telephone pole, just one hand, as long as I could, switched hands, back and forth until I was afraid I'd get an arm cramp, and dropped back down. Rode home.

                        The end.

                          • After doing bodyweight stuff last night at Karate, my back felt alot better. I guess I'm better off doing CST stuff with Power Training only a couple times a week, like I do during the school year. Too bad, I really love the heavy lifting. Oh well, in light of that, today's workout:

                            Walked the dog 2.2 miles.

                            Three Rounds:
                            Divebomber Push Ups x10
                            TRX Rows x 10
                            Alternating 3 Point Supine Bridge x 20
                            Chin Ups x 10
                            Dips x 10
TRX Pistols x 10 each side
                            Kettlebell Swings x 10
                            24" Box Jumps x 10

Untimed, just moving through to keep my muscles moving until my back is 100%.

                            • Did a Body by Science big five workout (squat,, weighted chins, oh. press, rows). Been seven days since my last lift. Was very strong today. Moved up in weight or time on every single exercise. Did this at the 22'nd hour of a 24 hour fast. Gonna eat a bunch of liver and onions and beef to break it. May even throw in a sweet potato and TONS of butter.

Right now going for a couple mile walk to eek out a bit more burn before I break the fast. Might do some stupid stuff like knifegill talked about while I'm on that walk if my muscles are recovered enough
