What is your workout today?

  • @140, 3x5 (standing) overhead press (no chance of completing 4th set)
    @200, 1x5 deadlift
    @140, 3x5 squats (from ground, not rack) (could have done a 4th set, but chose not to)

    Press/squat weight +5 over last week. Deadlift weight +60 over last week (suggests I'm still finding my limits). Body doing the "quivering" thing but urge to puke is weaker than last week. Could be coincidental...

          tomorrow is my birthday and i want to totally fatigue myself before the mass amount of cake and food i will be ingesting.

              I did go for a slow paced exploratory walk yesterday though. Probably not the greatest of ideas but it's not easy to slow down anymore.

              • 1x5 deadlift @ 250 (still binary searching my way to 1RM)

                I'm sure I could do more weight on squats, but I'm not going from a rack, I'm "cleaning" the bar up on my shoulders from the ground, and that's the limiting factor for now.

                I used to get a sharp, short pain in my shoulder when throwing things (baseball, skipping stones, whatever). Always assumed it was a left over injury that hadn't gotten taken care of. But with all the exercising, I noticed this morning the pain during throwing motions is gone! So perhaps it was just an "evenness" in my pathetic state of weakness. Will continue to monitor...

                  • 3.25 miles of walk/jog/run with my dogs.
                    2 hours of chopping wood with an axe... specifically, white oak, all wood 10"-16" in diameter.

                    I believe I will need a forklift to get out of bed tomorrow.

                    Initial Weight When Starting Primal: 275 lbs
                    Current weight: 210.8 lbs
                    Goal weight: 220 lbs (or less): MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

                          Had wanted to do five rounds, but Kenpo left me a little spent this morning. Decided to do some kettlebells to make up for it:

                          Three Rounds:

                          Swings x 10
                          Snatches x 5 each side
                          Presses x 5 each side
                          Dead Hang Pull Ups x 5
                          TGU x 1 each side

                          Whole workout took about 30 minutes

                          • On Level 1, Day 7 of the Gorilla Workout (iphone app, but think SimpleFit). Did not register until after I finished that I was at 90 squats and 30 supermans, with some wall push ups thrown in for good measure.

                            Feels like I just got off a horse, ffs!!

                            Loving this workout as an alternative to cardio and weights. Cannot recommend enough.
