  • New Year Goals

Every year I have made a weightloss goal for the new year, but that is so depressing!! I have decided to be happy with my current weight and set a strength goal this year and would love to hear some other strength or non weight related goals.

I want to deadlift twice my bodyweight by the end of next year which would be 250 pound dead. I am up to 1.5 times now.

I also want 10 dead hang pullups. I am up to 4.

    Cheers!

Awesome goals! I hit a double bw DL a few months ago as part of my 2012 new years goal.

On tap for 2013 - One arm pullup, 300lb squat, and a human turkish get-up

I was pushed into my splits in the 7th grade and have had them ever since... before that I would just sit in splits for as long as I could stand it.. good luck!

Do you have assistance bands?? That is how I got my first one.. I keep hearing I should continue to use them to get past 4 pullups but I stopped once I got one. I think I will incorporate them again.

Awesome goals, looks like your on a good track to meet those. I'm coming back from leg injury myself in August which have slowed my 12 goals down, but im almost 100% again.

New Goals for 13....and well on the way there.

Stay at my current weight of 5'10 197-201lbs and crack off the current numbers below, (current in parentheses)

                  500 deadlift (475)
                  405 squat (365)
                  225 overhead press (205)

Get my AirForce PT test 1.5 mile time back down into the low 11's.....had a couple of years of injuries over the years and havent been 100% in a long time, and quite frankly despite being active I suck at running. I dont enjoy it hahah......

Stay healthy, enjoy the Backcountry in Alaska on my snowmobile, and let my fitness levels improve my riding abilities.

It's good to have real goals, goals involving what you can DO, not just weight loss goals or goals involving what you LOOK like.

I don't have assistance bands for the pullups. I use an assisted pullup machine, plus I do planks, rows, presses, other core work and there's a playground where I can do negatives, which I do if I'm in the area. I've already met my goal to do a pushup and have done 4 in a row now. Next step is to do 10 and then to do 20, 50, 100 pushups. But for now, the inability to do a pullup is burning in my brain so that's the one I consider a GOAL.

I was thinking about this recently, but thought I'd hold back on posting till closer to the new year. But seeing as it's beeing started.

                      Body Weight Stuff;

                      End of year goals are:

                      1. A Muscle Up
                      2. A kip-up
                      2. A full pistol on each leg.

I have other intermeidate goals, like 25 pull ups, 100 push ups, and I might set my-self a planks challange too at some point.

                      Other Stuff;

                      1. Do a trail half Marathon (this is dependant on recovery from injury rather than a fitness challange)
                      2. Surf (this is a finding the time and money challange rather than fitness really)
You know all those pictures of Adam and Eve where they have belly button? Think about it..................... take as long as you need........................

                        Next year:

                        1) I want to learn to cook more Paleo meals!! (cookbooks currently make up 80% of my christmas list)

                        2) Manage to row successfully for my college team, whilst eating Paleo (until the summer) Not the ideal paleo exercise, but I don't know when I will have this chance again so I'm going to go for it.

                        3) Teach my mum about Paleo

                        4) Not stress too much about uni finals, and use Paleo eating to help me with that (I feel so much relaxed eating this way, and it's only been about a month!)
                        Paleo since 22nd Oct. 2012

                        F/21/5'7"
                        SW: 163 lb 22/10/12
                        CW: 154lb 1/12/12
                        GW: ~140 lb

Which Uni? My little bro is well into his rowing, he was at Sheffield, now he's in some boat club near that London.

Do a set of 8 pullups (currently, can do 4 ... 5 on a good day)
Reduce bodyfat to 21% (currently around 23-24% ... I'm female so that isn't terrible)
                            Climb a 5.10b
Forbidden Peak/Mt. Torment Traverse (climb in North Cascades National Park)
                            Do a one-armed pushup (CC-style)
Log at least 20 days of snowboarding* (for the 2012/2013 season, so includes Nov/Dec '12)
