Dr BB I so hope that you have changed your mind on that one. I think that it would not be wise to do planks - however I am not a Doctor, I am just a Mum/Gwamma who has had 8 pregnancies! Please humour me and DO NOT DO THEM !

I am very impressed with some of the times being achieved on this planking challenge.
Am hoping to get back into a normal everyday routine (planks, push ups, sprints, walking) in about 10 days time. I am so looking forward to it !

Why the paranoia about not doing planks? Is it cuz of the pregnancy? Cuz I don't really let that limit me. We're primal, right? Cave women did all sorts of stuff while preggo

ETA: just did plank. 60 sec. Started getting a little huffy puffy at 40 seconds. Not too bad.

Yep, My concerns are based around using stomach muscles that stretch and become lax during pregnancy.... I can't imagine a cave woman doing anything as extreme as a plank LOL, but who knows ???? but am not preaching, am just aware of how doing a new activity at this stage in your pregnancy could pull a muscle.....which could cause un-nessessary strain..... etc
Anyhoo I am sure that you will be listening to your body.

Walking for more than an hour pulled more stomach muscles than the plank. *Hugs* to you for looking out for me <3

I'm in. I haven't timed myself yet, but I doubt I have ever managed more than about 30 secs for a classic plank. I was told I have good form in a plank during a circuits class last week, which incidentally nearly killed me.

I'm setting myself the goal of achieving 1 min 30 by Christmas.

GW: ~24% BF - have ditched the scales til I fit into a pair of UK size 10 bootcut jeans. Currently aligning towards 'The Perfect Health Diet' having swapped some fat for potatoes.

I've seen a 14-sec improvement in 3 days, thro' increased motivation - thanks Gwamma. Also through doing a plank before any other resistance exercises. I'm loving this challenge.

Thanks Gwamma. I managed 86 seconds today. Pushing my feet back more to take more of the strain through my legs seems to be helping.

The limiting factor is pain in the region of my lower back. I expect I need to improve my form and tuck my tailbone in more.

I just did a 2 min 30 plank. PHEW! It nearly killed me lol... I had to force myself to stay there!! (My previous best was 2 mins). I think I lost a lot of form at the end though... I need to work on that . (I am sure weighing 10-15kg over my ideal doesn't help either lol).

Hmm. 1min 20sec for me today while waiting for the shower to warm up. A little shaky near the end.
Thanks for the motivation, I needed it, we'll see where this takes me in the next few days!

                              Go plankers!!
