Certainly works for me, my energy levels are, well, level without any of the peaks and drops that came from trying to chase carbs with insulin with more carbs.
I suspect the actual balance between protein and fats may differ significantly between individuals but once you find your sweet spot you may well find you can keep going longer with much less need to snack.
