  • Give me a primal workout

    Anyone got an enjoyable primal workout? Maybe something that includes leaping or something I have to do outside?

    what sort of workout are you looking for? strength? endurance/conditioning? sprint? fun?

    here's a fun one i did a couple weeks ago:
    30 burpees
    30 bicycle kicks
    30 push-ups
    30 jumping lunges
    30 tuck jumps
    10 pull-ups
    30-50 crunches

    did the whole thing on a local soccer field. lots of fun, lots of jumping.

    most of my workouts in july have been outside. i've got them all logged in the thread showing in my signature if you want more. they are all from the spartan race.

      Did you break them up in 3 sets of 10? Are the jumping lunges the ones where you lunge, jump and swith lets position on the lunge?

        i did them straight through. if i needed to take a couple of extra breaths during one particular exercise, i did.

        that's correct on the jumping lunges. they're kind of a pain in the ass...both literally and figuratively.

          I find any interval training fun, but I'm also a sick individual. Sprints are hard and seemingly the most rewarding...

          Walk 100 yards
          Jog 100 yards
          Spring 100 yards

          As many times as possible while changing up distance (i.e. 100, 80, 60, etc).

          Either before or after the cardio do any combination of pushups, pull-ups, jump rope, sit-ups, squats, lunges, calf raises. You'll be hurting for days.

            Hill sprints. At the top, 10 burpees. Die. Resurrect. Repeat.
