  • Bloating after exercise

So I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Nutrition forum but here we go:

I stay pretty strictly primal (dairy every once in a while, it doesnt bother me) and when I just walk every day and don't do intense exercise I lose weight fairly easily. BUT when I sprint, or lift, or play hockey I get really bloated. Like a nice round gut. Then it takes 2-3 days for it to fully go away and it only does if I go back to walking/minimal exercise again. I used to work out everyday when I was training for ice hockey and never had this problem. And it isn't like I am concerned about my weight, it is truly just getting bloated/feeling gross afterwards.

Anyone had this happen before? Any insights on what could be causing this? I don't add carbs or eat any differently on days I work out more intensely. It is quite frustrating since I really like lifting...
It is always too early to quit.

Do your hands or ankles swell as well or is just the ol' gut?

My belly gets huge after a hike. I don't know what causes it. You'd think it would shrink as I'm probably dehydrated and had to have worked off some calories. For me, sprinting makes it flatter, as does a long week of eating mainly beef to the point where I'm almost making myself sick from it.
