  • Is a simple leisurely walk enough for LISS?

    I have a park by my house with a walk path around it. Twice around is a mile and on days I lift I usually take a 30 minute stroll around the park immediately after my workout. I usually get 3 times around and a bit more in 30 minutes. Is this enough for LISS? should i be going faster or possibly slower for the max benefit?

    It all depends on your heart rate and it is tough to tell you definitively because people are different (i.e. what may increase my heart rate to 50% max may not be the same for you and vice versa).

    Mr. Sisson recommends keeping your heart rate under 70% for low impact activities so assuming you are doing this on your walks then you're fine.
