2012 Slow Movement Challenge

  • I'm joining in today as a late starter, hopping along at the rear.

    I'd like to do plenty of walks this year where I can enjoy nature, so this challenge is a good one for me.
    F 5 ft 3. HW: 196 lbs. Primal SW (May 2011): 182 lbs (42% BF)... W June '12: 160 lbs (29% BF) (UK size 12, US size 8). GW: ~24% BF - have ditched the scales til I fit into a pair of UK size 10 bootcut jeans. Currently aligning towards 'The Perfect Health Diet' having swapped some fat for potatoes.

      Yesterday I reached the 100 km "milestone". Looking back it's amazing how easy that was! Just keep on walking every (other) day, and the kms add almost automatically!

        • Weekly update: YTD = 95.9 km
          Horribly hot weather this week, couldn't be stuffed doing any more ...

          • Weekly ytd = 32 km, getting there, need to up my averages.

            • In between bad weather and a few busy mornings I haven't got out for a while, just back from 3km to take me to 75.58km total. Should be a good week this week to bash out some serious kms!

                • Another couple of km yesterday. 87km at 5th Feb.

                  Won't get any more in before Wednesday now. We're babysitting 3yr grandson and it's a scorcher here today with really high humidity.
                  Original Goal: To lose weight. Achieved in March 2010
                  Long Term Goals: To continue using Primal guidlines to improve fitness and health. To share the Primal message.

                      Feb 2 - 4.0 miles
                      Feb 3 - 1.1 miles
                      Feb 4 - 2.0 miles
                      Feb 5 - 1.0 miles

                      YTD -- 73.8 miles (118.8K)

                      Tough stretch as the flu took me down Wed & Thurs and really affected my numbers. Then, the rains came Friday and Saturday which normally doesn't affect me, but cold wet rains post flu didn't sound very good to me.

                      And, my running mileage continues to grow as well. Did my first 6 mile long run on Sunday - obviously not counted in this total.
                      Re-focusing on the Primal Lifestyle in 2012!

                      Starting: 221.0lb, 29.5% BF (1/9/2012)
                      Latest: 208.9, 26.1% BF (3/19/2012)

                        • I've been lazy the last days. It's still cold outside, and I didn't feel good after starting antibiotics to treat my Lyme Disease. I feel better now, but lots of work for the rest of the week. I will walk to work today, but that's not possible tomorrow and on friday as I work at different locations (as far as 50 km away from home)
