2012 Slow Movement Challenge

  • Started walking at work today, during lunch break. Eat at my desk ( I know, I know...) so working on a quick 2Km circuit. Weather still going to be a factor for a few more months, but that is what we get for living above the 45th parallel, on the Pacific Coast, I suppose.

    • 64 km in January. Everyone is doing so well, yay!

            Some of my numbers are starting to drop a little since I'm training for a Half Marathon and my running mileage is starting to grow and I'm only counting my walking mileage.

            It has been absolutely drop dead gorgeous where I'm at lately. Weather was nice over the weekend, but I did more "play" than "moving slowly" but yesterday, I took an extra long walk outside at lunch time in order to enjoy the sunshine.
            Re-focusing on the Primal Lifestyle in 2012!

            Starting: 221.0lb, 29.5% BF (1/9/2012)
            Latest: 208.9, 26.1% BF (3/19/2012)

              • Posting January totals. These dry, warm winters are really good for walking... I've been doing a neighborhood loop most weeknights and local hill/mtn routes on weekends. I need to get a new pair of shoes though; these worn-out ones are making my feet hurt!

                • January totals - 24 kM, pretty good considering I started back of the pack.

                  Figured out yesterday, I have to average approx. 3 klicks a day for the rest of the year and I can clear this goal. The 1000 kM goal is really a great motivator, first time I have done something like this.

                  • 93.2 km for January!

                    Currently it is really cold in Germany. Today Tmax was only -4° C, combined with wind and sunshine (and no snow). Not really fun to be outside because of the wind. But tomorrow I can add a little bit as I have to walk to work

                    • January is in the books! Congrats everyone for the awesome start. I'm setting a sub-goal of making sure I better my January total in Februrary, even though there is two less days!

                                That's 85km as of today 3rd Feb
