  • Muscle Spasms

    I am getting increasing muscle spasms since I have been limiting my carbs to under 100grams daily.
    Anyone else having this issue? It makes it hard for me to fall asleep.
    What are some Primal foods i can eat to stop this?

    spasms or cramps? Do you get enough potassium and/or magnesium? You may need to supplement.

      Yep sure did.

      The thing that helped the most was quitting caffeine. Caffeine messes up the calcium to magnesium ratio in muscle cells, which causes dysfunction in contraction and relaxation of the muscle.

      Taking a magnesium supplement helps too. If I don't take it for a few days the cramps are back. In my case they range from feeling like my muscles are itching from the inside to horrible spasming cramps.

        ahh i drink alot of caffeine. that could be it. they have resolved for the most part, but i get them now and then, especially in my leg, less so in my back.
