  • any "fun" weightlifting exercise suggestions?

    hey,

so i am wanting to add a fourth day into my weekly gym routine. this is not because i want to see faster results or anything, its purely because i enjoy heading to the gym after i get off work and working out.

so for this fourth day i am wanting to do a really unstructured day and just try some different exercises. i am current building lean muscle and these exercises will hopefully be a part of that, so NO cardio is really required!

so does anybody have any suggestions for fun weights exercises - to give you an idea of what i am after, something along the lines of turkish get-ups / farmers walks etc.

    any ideas will be appreciated!

I am in the same boat, and I ended up adding a KB workout. My 3 workouts are all bar power-lifting, so KB with its dynamic movements is an interval training and is so very different, MUCH FUN!

I do a circuit that consists of the supersets of:

        one arm alternative swing/Figure 8
KB path with a front lunge/side lunge and clean
        ---one legged DL---
        one armed overhead snatch/windmill

        TGU, bent-over deltoid rises, curl&press-up

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

barbell complexes, rowing sprints, tire flips (my favorite), if you can get access to a prowler that is a good time.

                      For time:
                      100 Burpees

Tabatas: 20 seconds on 10 seconds off - 8 rounds (you can either do 8 rounds of each exercise with a 2 minute rest between or alternate between the 2)
MB (held at chest) low squats
                      Dive bomber pushups
