  • ok im a believer in body weight exercises!

not that i wasnt a believer before but now i have something to back it up with

went to the gym today for the first time in about 2 months. i have been doing body weight exercises for that time here at home. well at the gym today i did my normal routine except this time ive added 60lbs to both my bench press and lat pull down max on a 5x5 rep schedule. i am pretty happy with those results!

oh yeah also got to play with a kettlebell for the first time today too. definitely going to be getting me one of those for home

that's awesome! i haven't tried lifting heavy (only bodyweight or lighter free weights) recently, and it's good to know that this actually does have other payoffs

YAY!!!!!!! Good for you! I love body weight exercises too.

I used to avoid them because I couldn't do full push-ups and wouldn't even consider doing pull-ups.

Now, after reading the PB and discovering this fitness forum, I do assisted pull-ups, knee push-ups and KB squats. These body weight exercises are making me a stronger fitter person. They're obviously doing the same for you too.

        Congrats!

Yeah, I just went back to gymnastic ring training again; I feel very much in my shoulders that I haven't done it for a while.
It gives you a different feel!

Congratulations on the hard work and its pay-offs.

We're doing the Primal Blueprint Fitness essential moves for body-weight exercises and they're kicking our butts (but in a great way). We also ordered a copy of You Are Your Own Gym. I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

My brother-in-law has that one. I'll have to borrow it from him.

Ross Enamait and his Never Gymless! He's a beast walking on Earth!

Also, you can't ignore Building the Gymnastic Body by Coach Christopher Sommer; however it requires a slightly different approach view. Indeed very recommended, though!

I've enjoyed bodyweight workouts too. I actually quit the gym because I didn't really actually use any of the equipment there. I never thought I would be able to actually do real pushups either. It's not that hard!

I guess it could be some kind of experimental instrument that left your mark. I dont believe in alians so i bet it was just your brother or something trying to creep you out.
