  • DOMS from Spinning?

I seem to have consistent DOMS in hamstring and glutes on Sundays. Both weeks I did a pretty whicked KB session with an added one-legged deadlift (wee!) on Friday afternoons (4-5 pm), and HIIT spinning on Saturday ~ 7 am. I am trying to figure out which one makes all the right impression on my backside. I am thinking KB's, because iirc bike was all about inner/out thighs and quads?

One legged deadlift is designed to target the backside and it certainly will, if you do it right.

Yes, and I would be completely sure of it if it showed up on Saturday morning, the morning after, lol. But it 'skipped' a day and hit on Sunday, the day after spin. ???

My DOMS is always at its peak two days post-training. I'm doing squats today and I'm sure my glutes and hamstrings will be super-sore Wednesday.

I was always the next day girl, but maybe it is because ot was an afternoon session. Interesting.

Do you stretch afterwards? I know stretching isn't all it's cracked up to be but I swear a quick stretch of the big muscles after a workout keeps DOMS away from me.

Yes, I try to put in a stertch and free flow dance of ~ 20 min every day, and definetly do at least a few stretches after any activity (or walk). I did steam room after kettlebells, and strolled cummulatively for a couple of hours after the spin + did a steam room later that day, plus foam rolled/stretched after lifting on Sunday. So, I feel I do the good stretching routines, I was more curious what hit me, to make sure I keep doing it! My lifting normally do not activate hamstrings to that degree, so if it is the KB deadlift, boy, it's golden & I might throw it in on its own 1 more time a week after lifting. Bulgarian squats & step ups didn't give me that much love!
