  • Why HIGH CARB is better than HIGH FAT

    for weight loss.

When you eat high fat/low carb, your muscles are depleted of glycogen. Your workout suffers and your body consumes protein to make up for the glucose deficiency. You lose a lot of muscle.

When you eat high carb/low fat, the majority of the carbs are stored as muscle glycogen which allows you to exercise better. Protein is spared and can be used for repair. The insulin from the carbs helps create an anabolic environment.

But either way, calories matter. But high carb is better for weight loss while exercising.

    Good bye.

    I lold.

You do realize that a once per week re-feed is enough for most dieters, and timed carb dieting works for competitive bodybuilders and powerlifters.

If you're that worried about it, spike insulin once a day for a refeed. It's not a big deal. No reason to go out and eat 300g of carbs, that's for sure.

Blanket statements like this show ignorance because anyone who's been around the block for a while in the body composition game knows that you have to literally play chess with the body's checks and balances.

The saying goes "If you control insulin, you control your physique".

In after join date corresponds to time training.

But anyways, this is definitely the OP:

So you've been here since Aug 2009...you have obviously learned nothing. Why are you even hanging out in a primal forum?

                        Not only that but:
                        Mark hasn't lost muscle.
                        Gary Taubes hasn't lost muscle.
Many people here have actually gained strength.
Conventional wisdom gets you nowhere go back to 30 bananas a day.

You lowcarbtards are so close minded

Carbs do not cause weight gain anymore than fat does

Carbs, unlike fat, can be used for anaerobic exercise

I'm not saying high fat is bad. Only that low fat is better for weight loss while exercising.

If I'm maintaining I believe that moderate carbs + moderate fat is the ideal, not one low and the other high.

Wanna tell me what "extra carbs" mean? Did you know most of it gets store in your muscles? Fats can't do that.
