I bought a 35# bag of sand at Lowe's with the intention of making a Bulgarian tube......one of these days. Then I remembered my pack frame in storage; yeah, the Rockies ain't here, sigh. It's a frame and pack I picked up at Goodwill for $7 once and I added about $25 in real heavy duty padded straps and hip belt. The weight rides on the hips, not the shoulders.
So today I put the bag of sand in the main compartment, and after some sprints, did my beach walk. Wonderful! Kept my pulse up, stretched new muscles. Did some step ups at the pavilion, did some squats. Not deep, that could undo my knee, but now, with extra resistance, oh yeah. Very nice.
I have another 40 pounds of assorted weights I can add, too.
Now, it's too bad there are no hills to pretend it's Bobcat Creek on my left and not the Gulf of Mexico!
