  • Anyone fancy a sandbag lifting challenge?

A simple challenge if you want to try testing your abilities with some sandbag lifting.

Take a sandbag ( I recommend 20-30kg for men and 10-20kg for women). Start the clock and in the first minute perform 1 clean and jerk (or ground to overhead anyway you can). In the second minute perform 2 repetitions and so on. Aim to complete 30 rounds.

It starts easy and then gets hard real quick.

Best of luck and let me know how you get on.

I don't have a sand bag (though that seems easy enough to remedy). I think I'll give this one a try on my next LHT day, but with a 24kg Kettle bell (alternating arms as needed).

I''ll give that one a try tonight. I have to go back to figure out how heavy my sandbag is though...can't remember.

Hey Coach, is that sandbag just a store bought bag o' sand wrapped in duct tape?

I just might try this out.

It is! I've got quite a few (waterproof stuff sacks, brute force bags etc) but this is the easiest and least expensive option.

I just made myself a sandbag over the weekend (sand inside 2 construction strength black garbage bags then sealed up with duct tape wrapped to close the opening of the bags then around both ways to make it nice and tight) so I'll be trying those moves. The bag works great and you can put the amount of sand in that fits your needs. I just split a 60 pound bag of it into two sandbags I made.
