Best part about being Primal: Real food, real taste. I feel better about what I put in my mouth and how I feed my family.

      • Your location: Suburbs of Philadelphia

        Age (If you want): 32

How Primal are you: Fully (at least I think so)

Do you consume dairy: only fermented. Kefir and Greek yogurt

Do you drink coffee or tea: yes & yes

Motivator for switching to Primal: weight loss and overall health. Tired of the taste and expense of processed foods and the gut problems they were causing.

Favorite exercise: I think the least favorite would be a shorter list. I like most exercises. I use Turbulence Training as a starting point. Great circuit training! I really enjoy sprinting, too. Never thought...

Favorite Primal food: Primal Salad with smoked salmon

Best part about being Primal: Effortlessness, common-sense-itude, simplicity, loss of gut problems, easy fat loss, easy muscle build, great food, open attitude and acceptance, need I say more??

Worst part about being Primal: Convincing friends and family that I'm not insane and that I don't have an eating disorder! (partially serious!) They all eat crap and live sedentary lives and think I've lost too much weight...

        • The Questions:

          Your location: Omaha, Nebraska

          Age (If you want): 22

How Primal are you: I think I could always be more primal, as I cheat occassionally. But like the book says, I try to stay as close to 80% as possible, and I've seen results so I think I'm doing well. I find that the more primal I stay, the better I feel and look.

Do you consume dairy: Yes, but I've definitely cut back since becoming primal. I'm a cheese fiend, but I try to stick to just a couple slices of swiss a day.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Both occassionally, I prefer tea and enjoy trying all different kinds.

Motivator for switching to Primal: My boyfriend achieved amazing results after reading The PB and encouraged me to learn more about it. I read the book and slowly, but surely, switched my diet and lifestyle. I have lost a total of 18 pounds since March and I'm feeling great!

Favorite exercise: I love lifting weights!

Favorite Primal food: berries & cream

Best part about being Primal: I feel so refreshed, lighter and healthier after enjoying primal meals and exercising regularly. I was skeptical that I wouldn't notice results quickly, but I stuck with it and am loving the way I look and feel!

Worst part about being Primal: Sprints They are definitely not my favorite part of the PB regimen, but I know that incorporating them into my workouts once a week has really helped my physique and mixes up my routine.

Do you consume dairy: Yes, butter and gotta have my cheddar.

Do you consume dairy: Very little to none.

Do you drink coffee or tea: No.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Need a long-term sustainable plan/lifestyle/whatever you like to call it. I had gone through Beachbody's P90X, but it is not a permanent type program. I mean 90 is in the name - it's a 90-day plan.

Favorite exercise: Hiking with my kids in the mountains.

                  Favorite Primal food: Pork

Best part about being Primal: Losing weight, gaining muscle & I'm not hungry

                  • Your location: Central Mississippi

                    Age: 30

How Primal are you: Well, I just started yesterday so it's hard to say really.

Do you consume dairy: Not since starting, but this one is going to be hard for me to give up.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee yes, tea no.

Motivator for switching to Primal: I had been reading MDA for a few months when I introduced my wife to it. I have lost 50lbs through other means than primal, but my wife has only lost 10. She's tried tons of different methods to lose weight with no success, so this is probably her last chance before getting checked out by a doc (thyroid problems is what I'm getting at). So, she's my main motivator.

Favorite exercise: I love P90X and Insanity even though they might be frowned upon here, but I did those before finding Primal.

                    Favorite Primal food: BACON!

Best part about being Primal: Just started, so it's hard to say.

Worst part about being Primal: Just started, so it has to be the lethargic feeling I have. My body hasn't adjusted yet.

                    • Your location: Miami, FL

                      Age (If you want) :62

How Primal are you: Don't know enough about the program yet...A lot of my life has been spent outdoors, usually at sea, but for awhile deer hunting was important to me. These activities I guess were sort of primal. I did the Eades Protein Power diet for awhile, which I think may have been similar to Mark's program.

Do you consume dairy: haven't for years, but have recently been eating cheese, since I think older people have trouble with bones and I wish to avoid that.

Do you drink coffee or tea: No

Motivator for switching to Primal: Been doing pretty extreme cardio work to compensate for advancing age (I've been a lifelong jogger, though), jogging and lap swimming, but am running myself down to the point that I'm catching too many colds...I notice that Mark spoke of similar experience which he solved by "going primal." His program sounds appealing.

Favorite exercise: I've long enjoyed jogging, but it's starting to wear me down.

Favorite Primal food: venison, bison, steak, fish...and sushi, I guess. I'm pretty much a carnivore.

Best part about being Primal: too early to say, I didn't really start it yet, but I'm hoping for more energy and fewer colds. I like being in shape and though I'm managing to be in shape pretty well, I'm hoping even for improvement.

Worst part about being Primal: I may miss sweets, but perhaps the desire for them will be less intense with the primal exercise routine replacing my endurance stuff. That piece of Key Lime Pie down at Key Largo last night was pretty damn great.

Age (If you want): 20 (nearing 21! one day un-primal won't hurt!)

How Primal are you: So far I would say 80%-85% It is hard to believe corn isn't a vegetable and beans and legumes are bad. Common wisdom failed me again! Plus my sweet tooth murders my success rate sometimes.

Do you consume dairy: Yea, I can't help but have a glass of milk every now and than. Cheese on salads are a plus too

Do you drink coffee or tea: Green tea sometimes to relax

Motivator for switching to Primal: My brother got into it and it just made sense

Favorite exercise: Grok Tag ( my brother and I call it ultimate tag its great!)

Favorite Primal food: Steak no questions

Best part about being Primal: seeing results and being happy about what I eat and do

Worst part about being Primal: Giving up ice cream and all the other awesome sweets out there.

Over all this is a great thing to be doing! Grok On!

                        • "Well, here I am...." - Jubal Early

                          Your location: Phoenix, AZ

Age (If you want): Old enough to know better.

How Primal are you: Scale 1-10, 10 being überprimal, probably about a 6

Do you consume dairy: Yes. Gladly. Organic milk and half-and-half

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee good. Daily, about 2 cups.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Healthier eating & living

Favorite exercise: Are you serious? I guess it would have to be sitting. But if you're discussing actual "movement", then, um, well, er....I don't have a favorite. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose, I'd probably say "hiking", but only so I don't get shot.

                          Favorite Primal food: Meat.

Best part about being Primal: Meat.

Worst part about being Primal: Fruit. I really don't like fruit. Oh, and no buttered toast. I love buttered toast. However, I am sure that's what made me the man I am today. All of me.

The whole exercise thing really is my Achilles' heel in the healthy living thing. Once I start, it's OK...but it's the starting that's the issue. Yeah, I know I should, my health depends on it, but I've never been a physical person (don't confuse this with not being strong, which my wife says I am...I am unsure I believe her, though).

                          So. There it is.

Age (If you want): 37 Female, mom of 4

How Primal are you: Just started and still learning what to do

                              Do you consume dairy: Yes

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee

Motivator for switching to Primal: Well I slowly lost 20 pounds over the last 3 years with portion control and exercise. I ran a half marathon, but running long distances is hurting my knees. I was looking up good protein foods randomly and came across the MDA website and was curious. I tried very hard recently to lose the last 10 pounds but had hardly any success even though I was trying very hard!

I have only been doing this 3 days but I'm already down 3 pounds and I am feeling fantastic, great mood, energetic and I just feel excited to try this out. Honestly, the before and after photos from the success page really motivated me. Thats how i want to look... NOT SKINNY FAT.

Favorite exercise: I love sprinting and I just did a weights work out and that felt really good.

                              Favorite Primal food: Bacon

Best part about being Primal: Its only day 3 and I am loving how this feels!

Worst part about being Primal: For me its probably going to be the cost of food. Luckily here in california everyone is on some weird diet to be healthy so no one cares about that.
