    • Your location: Bronx, NY

      Age (If you want): 28

How Primal are you: Dietwise I hit 100 percent most days out of the week, I could stand to do more moving after so much sitting at work though.

Do you consume dairy: Butter on the regular and a couple tbs of Parmesan cheese a few times a month

Do you drink coffee or tea: Bengal Spice + black tea + coconut milk = best chai ever, 4 or 5 days a week.

Motivator for switching to Primal: It was a very natural progression, having been raised to value Real Food, figuring out that gluten was killing me, realizing that most any dense carbs made me sick... Yeah, stumbling across PB/Paleo info was an epic lightbulb moment.

Favorite exercise: Staying front and center at a rock show, an awesome combination of dancing, resistance training (you gotta resist all the dudes twice your size trying to push you out of the way! )and just sweaty, bacchanalian exertion in a sea of other similarly minded people.

Favorite Primal food: Coconut. Everything. Coconuts just make everything better.

Best part about being Primal: No more blood sugar pogo, no more getting ravenously hungry.

Worst part about being Primal: Not so much with the fat loss (Ten pounds of probably water weight in the first 3 weeks, but now, months later...), but because of many factors I find my thyroid pretty suspect right now.

      • Hi, I've posted before but I'll post again because I'm just getting back on the wagon.

        Your location: Bay Area, CA
        Age (If you want): 35
How Primal are you: Maybe 75% at this point. Looking to up that over the next week. I have serious weight to lose (30-40 lbs)
Do you consume dairy: Right now yes (goat & sheeps milk, not cow) and looking to ditch it
Do you drink coffee or tea: tea
Motivator for switching to Primal: Weight loss, hormone balance, lower blood pressure, better skin... anti aging, you name it.
        Favorite exercise: Heavy weight lifting
Favorite Primal food: Wild boar bacon
Best part about being Primal: You can literally do it anywhere- any restaurant you go to, any cuisine, you can do primal... unlike any other diet out there. Trying doing that on vegan or clean eating or whatever. Seems to be helping my digestive issues (gluten intolerant/lactose intolerant/IBS)
Worst part about being Primal: have not found a bad thing yet...

Any woman over 30 who can provide direction/advice who would be appreciated.

            • Your location: Sydney Australia

              Age (If you want): 32

How Primal are you: I eat raw eggs, raw milk, yoghurt, grass fed meat (when possible) and vegetables with some fruit as my primary diet. I still eat some brown rice, rye, sour dough and other grains but am trying to cut them out.

Do you consume dairy: Daily, Raw Milk, yoghurt, cheese....trying to eat soft cheese only (cottage and riccotta)

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee maybe 1 per day...need to cut this back. Mainly out of boredom

Motivator for switching to Primal: Fitness and looks. going primal has let me shed lots of body fat quickly. I have tried purely low carb in the past but found myself constantly tired. Introducing lots of good healthy saturated fats into the diet has given me lots of energy and allowed me to have that 6 pack i have always wanted without feeling like a zombie. My training is intense...i surf up to 10 times per week, 2 slow weight session (kettle bells, barbells and body weight, gym rings etc) some plyometrics, 2-3 yoga sessions and a couple of touch football(rugby) session. As a result I have got super cut up but have a lost a little bit of muscle.

Favorite exercise: Surfing, fast hard plyometrics, yoga, touch rugby

Favorite Primal food: All of it! I start the day with a shake of 2-3 raw eggs, raw milk, coconut oil, berrys and stevia! Lots of good fatty meats and raw fish

Best part about being Primal: The energy levels and how easy it is to look good without really trying too hard

Worst part about being Primal: Hard giving up the carbs...love my chocolate too and fries....slowly but surely! Also a bit worried about my massive increase in saturated fats.....feel like a bit of an experiment...

Do you consume dairy: yes, raw cheese and butter but I'm thinking of giving them up.

Do you drink coffee or tea: I like to drink tea. I used to have a cup daily but now it's more like twice a week, black or green, unsweetened.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Looking to lose weight. Tried this diet last year and I don't know what happened, I liked it but I just stopped. Now I'm back and I'm only in week 2 of it but I like that I am not hungry at all.

Favorite exercise: I do yoga, biking and walking.

Favorite Primal food: eggs, eggs and more eggs.

Best part about being Primal: never feeling like I'm starving.

Worst part about being Primal: I haven't really lost any weight yet. What should I be doing?

                  • Your location: Washington (state)

                    Age (If you want): 34

How Primal are you: I'd say 80% right now, but I'm new!

Do you consume dairy: cheese, occasional sour cream

Do you drink coffee or tea: no, but I drink large amounts of diet pepsi

Motivator for switching to Primal: I didn't really switch to primal so much. It's a long story. I started with the CW diet and exercise and actually lost about 50 of the 75 lbs. I needed to lose over a 4-month period. At that point, I was so active that I decided to take a closer look. I was putting so much effort into getting into shape, I figured I should try to be efficient. I ended up here because I google-searched for "low carb diet." I searched for "low carb diet" because I read Gary Taubes book "Good Calories, Bad Calories." I read "Good Calories, Bad Calories" because it was pointed out, of all places, on twoplustwo.com, a poker forum (weird, huh). Anyway, after reading Taubes, I started to cut out grains and, for the most part, carbs in general. I started feeling so much better that I just craved information on the topic....Taubes wasn't enough. So, here I am. Hi.

Favorite exercise: Sprints (they are also my most hated exercise)

Favorite Primal food: Filet Mignon, without a doubt

Best part about being Primal: It would be weird to compartmentalize the way I feel. It's just.... all of it. I feel so great, the best I've felt since I was in high school, 15 years ago.

Worst part about being Primal: I love to eat out. Low carb can be done, but primal can be pretty difficult, especially when you eat with others.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Slowly weaning off coffee. I'm an addict.

Motivator for switching to Primal: I have multiple health issues and I'm trying to minimize their impact on my life and my future.

Favorite exercise: "Real" excercise-kickboxing. "NotReal" excercise (according to them who don't do it)-horseback riding

Favorite Primal food: Meat. Preferably beef, rare, homegrown, well marbled, and juuuuuicy

Best part about being Primal: Meat. Fat. Meat. Fat.

Worst part about being Primal: Cooking. I'm good at it, I just hate doing it.

Has anyone else out there transitioned from Medifast to Primal? It seems like it would be a logical and fairly easy transition....mild ketosis...no grains...carbs under 100 grams. I'm just thrilled to have food that didn't come out of a packet.
