    Age (If you want): 40!

How Primal are you: Depends on whether dairy counts as primal. Try to stick to it as much as possible - maybe 90%.

Do you consume dairy: Some -- heavy cream, butter, some cheese, and yogurt.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Have kind of lost my taste for coffee lately. A few sips and then it starts to taste *blech*. Green tea once in a while. Love matcha but am trying to watch caffeine.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Just trying new ways to improve my health (fatigue, moods, thyroid and adrenal issues). Had wondered about the gluten thing and cutting it out has made a big difference (less belly bloat).

Favorite exercise: Depends on the day. Walking, weights, yoga, sprints, swimming.

Favorite Primal food: Too many too choose! I think egg yolks and butter would have to be near the top. Almost any veggie, except raw broccoli.

Best part about being Primal: Discovering fat is my friend. Yummy foods, easier to manage blood sugar and hunger, better moods for the most part.

Worst part about being Primal: I'm trying to be quite strict on the gluten thing, so haven't had any sips of my DH's beer for the past 2 months -- I especially miss Guinness!

      Age (If you want): 25

      How Primal are you: 90/10

Do you consume dairy: Cheese! I love cheese.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Both, and I especially love iced green tea.

Motivator for switching to Primal: I dropped 30 lbs over the course of a year by cutting out sugar and carbohydrates for dinner and dessert. Then I hit a plateau (despite the calorie and carbohydrate restriction) so I decided to try the primal diet out. Almost four weeks primal and down 5 pounds - it's just what my body needed.

      Favorite exercise: Lifiting/Sprints

Favorite Primal food: BACON, avocados and walnuts

Best part about being Primal: Always satisfied, always full and the best part, it's always guiltfree.

Worst part about being Primal: I *love* beer. That has been the hardest thing for me to pass up.

Best part about being Primal: Energy!!!!!!!!

              How Primal are you:
              Just starting out...

              Do you consume dairy:
I love whole milk, but it gives me heartburn. Anything lower fat is just nasty tasting to me. So I guess I'm avoiding it.

Do you drink coffee or tea:
Herbal tea, but not very often.

              Motivator for switching to Primal:
Even though I'm only about 10 or 15 pounds overweight, I've got the Buddha belly. And I'm trying just to be healthier in general. Primal is just common sense, at least in my world.

              Favorite exercise:
Treadmill, but for a really lame reason. I walk for a living (10-15 miles a day at a pretty fast pace), so I can outlast all of the 20-somethings and feel a little better about being middle-aged!

              Favorite Primal food:
              Avocados!

              Best part about being Primal:
Knowing I'm not eating a pharmacy with every bite.

              Worst part about being Primal:
I really miss chocolate frosted donuts...

                  40s

                  How Primal are you:
Pretty full-on. I don't do so well with sourcing the Omega 3s and grass-fed meat, but getting there.
Falling off the wagon is getting less and less frequent

                  Do you consume dairy:
Yes - butter and some cream.

Do you drink coffee or tea:
Both - yes. Limiting to two coffees a day now.

                  Motivator for switching to Primal:
I've been researching nutrition for some time via Atkins > Anti-candida > Low GI > Primal.
Mainly due to very bad eczema; asthma; IBS; mood swings; weight gain. Felt rubbish.

                  Favorite exercise:
                  Chin ups.

                  Favorite Primal food:
Currently - scrambled eggs with turmeric and coriander leaf.

                  Best part about being Primal:
Feeling great all the time. No skin problems; no breathing problems; no digestive problems. Losing nearly 30 lbs in fat.
It feels like I'm functioning like a proper human being for the first time in 25-30 years - possibly more.
I don't even seem to get hangovers!

                  Worst part about being Primal:
Wishing you could help other people to realise the answers to their health problems.

                    • Hello!

                      Your location:

                      Just outside of Baltimore, MD

                      Age (If you want):

                      29, soon to be...20 + 10

                      How Primal are you:

Not very, but I am working towards increasing that from a nutrition standpoint. From an exercise standpoint, luckily I get to move around a lot at my job, and I dabble with crossfit. I also love to hike/backpack whenever I can. So, aside from lacking in quantity, I love primal fitness style (yay lifting heavy things!)

                      Do you consume dairy:

I love cheese, have some occasional yogurt, a spot of half and half in my coffee, and milk for cooking, but I am open to reducing my dairy intake.

Do you drink coffee or tea:

Yes, coffee. One cup EVERY morning, even in the woods. Thank you Starbucks VIA.

                      Motivator for switching to Primal:

I've put on some weight here in my late 20s and I want to be healthy, strong, and look good as I head into my 30s.

                      Favorite exercise:

I love Crossfit workouts, I just need to do them more often! I enjoy lifting heavy things. I also love the feeling that being out in the woods and carrying all of your stuff on your back gives you.

                      Favorite Primal food:

                      Avocados, steaks and many more!

                      Best part about being Primal:

Well since I am not totally primal and just starting out, I can say only that when I do actually eat the way I am supposed to I feel FANTASTIC.

                      Worst part about being Primal:

My sweet-tooth! Oh and also I love booze.

                        18!

                        How Primal are you:

pretty close to +90% The most unprimal thing you will see me touch is chocolate whey protein and maybe some cheese

                        Do you consume dairy:

I love butter, cheese is great too. The butter goes on just about anything and cheese might add flavor to an omelet every now and then. I once used a cup of milk as a pre-workout drink. I felt hyper as hell, lol.

Do you drink coffee or tea:

I dont really drink these, i mean, i wouldnt mind to, i just dont go out of my way to make a good ol' cup a joe or some fine tea.

                        Motivator for switching to Primal:

To get rid of carb crashes and low energy levels after eating, lower body fat, and overall just feel great!

                        Favorite exercise:

Animal calisthenics like: bear crawls, duck walks, bunny hops, crab walks, shrimps(brazilian jiujitsu drill (; ) pouncing, crickets ups, frog jumps etc

pull ups, chin ups and dips are fun too.

                        Favorite Primal food:

                        100% raw cacao

                        Best part about being Primal:

Having stable levels of energy and no mood swings. Not having to worry about storing body fat or skipping meals, and feeling great!

                        Worst part about being Primal:

Foraging for primal food in this modern world. lmao
"I know what my body needs and what it can handle. There's no better way to achieve my goal than what im doing now. If my regimen leads to my death, be it in six days or six months...I will die fullfiled. The outcome is irrelavent so long as i steer towards my fate. Age (If you want): 39

                          How Primal are you: 75-80%?

                          Do you consume dairy: Yes

Do you drink coffee or tea: Oh yes, coffee daily, tho I go thru kicks where it's just green tea.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Years with fibromyalgia, was treated for cancer a year ago, I'm overweight, I know I have gluten intolerances, and I'm simply sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Favorite exercise: Hiking, totally into the hiking, usually in the Olympic Mtns, sometimes in the Cascades. I take my dog for a ramble every evening. I do quite a bit of gardening and landscaping here at home, and that involves moving a lot of boulders and logs by hand.

Favorite Primal food: White Fish in Green Sauce.

Best part about being Primal: Um... the 'digestive regularities'? OK. I'll be polite. The new-found energy and well-being. Yeah, that's it.

Worst part about being Primal: Resisting the post-hike cheeseburger. Passing up that greasy gloopy mess after a day, weekend, or even week of hiking. Who has that kind of will-power? Geez!

So that's me. In a nut-shell. Not a peanut shell, mind you, not anymore. That's simply not primal. I'm starting my challenge this weekend. I've been running increasingly PB since January, and have bolstered myself with success enough to be motivated into a whole 30-day challenge. I'm already down 15 pounds since my birthday in mid-March, feeling and looking increasingly lean, getting out and moving every single day, and really managing to kick my sugar habit. I would like to build on that.

                          So here goes!

                          • Hi - I just joined although I've been following Mark Sisson, Cordain, Harris, Gedgaudes, Keith, Kwasniewski, Taubes and all the other best of the best since mid April.
I saw something Sharon had to say about her incredible progress on PaNu and came over a read it. I decided I will be here to support Sharon, but to hopefully also get some support and friends along the way. I am 25-30 pounds over weight - and well, that's a long story. But I'll start a thread I guess because I'd like to journal what 's giong on and get lots of suggestions. :-)

                            The Questions:

                            Your location: CT

Age (If you want): 45 Female

                            How Primal are you: 100%

                            Do you consume dairy: no

Do you drink coffee or tea: 1 cup black

Motivator for switching to Primal: I had a rapid weight gain and knew I had to do the right thing.

Favorite exercise: walking and weight training, interval sprints.

Favorite Primal food: love it all.

Best part about being Primal: My symptoms are gone: acne, insomnia. Hair is thicker, hunger is gone, I feel so much better.

Worst part about being Primal: I'm not yet losing weight - in fact I gained weight. that slow/reverse progress is very depressing. I know I need to tweak my macros a bit because soon the fat will melt like butter in a pan. I read the PaNu blog and Kwasniewski's proprotions. Also having read Gedgaudas. I know my protein was too high. My carbs have been too high too. I only consume green veggies for carbs...but was getting up to 60-80g and need to lower that.
So with protein and carbs too high, and fat just about right, it's clear why I wasn't losing weight! I will start a thread and get to meet everyone. Thanks for reading.
