  • Telling my whole story in the success thread: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread96437.html

    Your location: Woodstock, GA

    Age (If you want): 52

How Primal are you: Probably 90%, using a modified regimen of my own that is still evolving.

Do you consume dairy: Aged cheeses and real cream for coffee only

Do you drink coffee or tea: Yes

Motivator for switching to Primal: Started my conversion following a 2010 heart attack and have developed it ever since.

Favorite exercise: Running, weightlifting, and hiking.

    Favorite Primal food: Steak.

Best part about being Primal: Where do you begin to answer this?

Worst part about being Primal: Giving up sweets is bittersweet. The benefit is self-motivating but the temptation is sometimes still there.

        • The Questions:

Your location: New York, capitol region

          Age (If you want): 15

How Primal are you: Not as primal as I used to be. I try my best to do what I know is best for my body, but adherence has become more difficult lately for some reason

Do you consume dairy: I love yogurt. I'm beginning to think I should stay away from it but a good, simple whole milk yogurt with nuts, chia seeds, and berries is pretty hard to beat. Favorite brands are Stonybrook and Fage.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee.. love the smell, hate the taste. I do like a nice steaming cup of herbal tea though, helps me relax.

          Motivator for switching to Primal:
Began eating more consciously a little over 1 year ago and eventually it turned into an obsession. I was competitively rowing around the clock while calorie restricting on a conventional healthy diet. I lost a bit of weight, probably around 4-6 lbs, but my mentality about food was not healthy. When I discovered paleo and eventually MDA (especially when I read up on the science behind it all) I realized I needed to change. Began eating more by instinct rather than numbers and became happier, healthier, and stronger.

          Favorite exercise:
I do mostly weight lifting and my favorite lift changes every now and then. Lately I've been getting into olympic lifts and crossfit style stuff and as of right now my favorite lift is the squat clean.

Favorite Primal food: wild atlantic mackerel. Whole, off the grill with a pinch of truffle salt. The head is the best part, no joke.

          Best part about being Primal:
You feel satiated all the time and have great energy, I actually can't remember any time when I felt truly hungry or felt low on steam while eating and acting 100% primal. At other times, however, it is a lot more noticeable.

Worst part about being Primal: Living in a house with a family that doesn't share your interests in health/fitness and the cost of quality food (on top of the non primal food the rest of the fam likes). Its hard to stick to it when you know the nuisance you can be "did you cook these veggies in vegetable oil?" "Where is this pork from?" etc

Do you drink coffee or tea: Both. Coffee daily, green tea when I feel like making it.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Tired of being as big as I was. I read the primal blueprint and it made sense.

            Favorite exercise: Weights and walking.

            Favorite Primal food: Meat! Seafood.

Best part about being Primal: The weight loss.

How Primal are you:75-35?? I would like to think so anyway

              Do you consume dairy:Milk-no, cheese-occasionally

Do you drink coffee or tea:Both! I love!!

Motivator for switching to Primal: To be healthy, but I had been struggling with weight my whole life, nothing worked. I was not happy with myself and I needed a miracle.

Favorite exercise: Walking, biking, and hiking

Favorite Primal food: Bacon. Who can say it's not?

Best part about being Primal: Knowing I am controlling what I am eating and I can exercise without hating it. I feel great.

Worst part about being Primal: I love Ireland and Korea and I love their food. When I some of the rice or potatoes, I bloat bad. I also don't always get all of my exercise in during the week. I also can't get quite as much sleep as I need to my school and work schedule.

                  • Hi everyone!
I just want to introduce myself and send greetings from Germany!
female, like sports, interested in nutrition, a bit fed up with dieting/couting calories, food reglementation (no, I'm not over weight but since I was 12 living in a diet-world).
I'm new to this "family" here - reading the threads I got this impression - and I'm looking foward to discuss.
For now I'm not really into the PB (especially the nutrition), but eager to learn and test. Intuitive eating is what I'm aiming at.
Sorry for idiomatic/ spelling mistakes - I'm not a native speaker!
                    Have a nice day!

                        • Hi everyone..... I'm a new Asian female to this forum and would just like to introduce myself....😊. I stumbled upon this website & has been following the forum thread for a month before I finally picked up the courage to join in (my first ever public announcement that I have an eating disorder!).

Would be be great to hear any help from all of you!

                          living in : Asia
                          age: 35 years
                          weight/height: 48kg / 163cm / around 10kg fats (according to my scale)
hobbies: running, baking, eating (ESP sweets &#128534
Medical history: diagnosed with high cholesterol (above 300 points) last December. Stopped having my period since May 2012 - don't know why???

reason for wanting to go primal:
I've been on a compulsive eating behavior since 2 years ago when I fell in love with running. Would go all out bingeing whole day uncontrollable on everything insight in a day - 5 to 8 scoops of ice creams, 3 to 5 slices of cakes or bread at one seating....uncontrollable bingeing, especially on desserts, for 2 to 3 hours nonstop. I would feel so guilty & bloated and then I'll take laxatives to make myself feel better. I'll start the next day feeling bloated & telling myself not to repeat this again....will be good all the way till after dinner....then BAMM....it starts all over again with late night dessert binges!

the worse thing is I do all these in secret by myself cos I feel so ashamed of myself.... I am hoping to try primal living so that I don't have to keep tracking my calories everyday & be able live normally like my peers around me. (Doesn't help when I'm living in Asia where rice and grains is the staple food)

                          help! 😫😓

                            • Whats up everyone, just saw this thread, so I figured I would comply with the "obligatory" rules lol.

                              location: Montreal

                              Age (If you want): 22

How Primal are you: Pretty primal, I've completely eliminated grains from my diet, legumes and really limit nuts. I have recently fallen (back) in love with dairy and its amazing taste and benefits. Train heavy and hard, varying how many times per week. Would like to play more (never enough play)

                              Do you consume dairy: Absolutely

Do you drink coffee or tea: Yes, tea mostly, coffee on occasion

Motivator for switching to Primal: Health reasons. Coming from being a bodybuilder grains were the staple of my diet, so I'm reaping a lot of rewards from the switch.

Favorite exercise: Too many to choose one, although I suppose for now it would be weightlifting

Favorite Primal food: Meat + Greens + Cheese

Best part about being Primal: Health benefits

Worst part about being Primal: Eating the delicious out unhealthy food isn't quite the same. (feel wise)

[QUOTE=Anonymous;280]In other forums I've been a member of in the past - at least for small communities - there's been a 'introduce yourself' thread with some questions that people can answer. I know that there are people reading this forum that are fully primal, partially primal, and are considering it. I thought that I'd put some questions together to cover these things just to get an idea of who's out there.
