          Location: Massachusetts, United States

          Age: 43

How Primal? Just beginning. We'll see. Trying to do the 30 Day Challenge pretty strictly (except for a holiday or two, and for those days I'll add a couple on the back end).

Do I Consume Dairy? I live on it. I love milk and cheese. I will try to leave it behind for the Challenge.

Do I drink Coffee or Tea? This is the second half of my diet. I live on coffee. I'm not giving it up for the Challenge (or for anything else!)

Motivator for switching to primal? I'd like to get down to 200 lbs. After a year of running alone, I have not lost any weight.

Favorite Exercise: It ain't really like that. I've been running different distances for the year and will be starting the Strong Lifts 5X5 program along with this Challenge. None of it is all that fun to me yet.

Favorite Primal Food: Seafood, Steak, Berries, Spinach

Best Part About Being Primal: Howling at the moon without shame.

Worst Part About Being Primal: Don't know yet. No dairy probably. The idea of "I can't eat that".

            Your location: Melbourne, Australia

            Age (If you want): 27

How Primal are you: I'm a week in, so early days, but I've already lost over 2Kg so I'll be giving it a good run.

Do you consume dairy: I do, I love milk but I'll drop it for PB.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Not usually, I like them both but I don't drink them much.

Motivator for switching to Primal: The thinking behind it interests me and I'm also trying to shed some weight.

Favorite exercise: I hit the gym every 2nd day to do weights, so it would be heavy lifting of some sort.

            Favorite Primal food: Lamb

Best part about being Primal: You can eat the animal fat on you meat guilt free.

Worst part about being Primal: Finding dishes with no grains when eating out can be tough.

              Your location: Rhode Island, USA

              Age (If you want): 33

              How Primal are you: 80%-ish

Do you consume dairy: mostly cheese if the meat I'm eating is dry. I have Scandinavian ancestry and grew up on a dairy farm, so that's my excuse.

Do you drink coffee or tea: both

Motivator for switching to Primal: About 7 years ago I discovered it got rid of my acne. Since then I was on/off, but now am much more fundamentally "on" since my son was born and I gained 40 lbs during pregnancy. I've lost 37 of those lbs and the rest I think is in my boobs since I'm still nursing

Favorite exercise: I do a VERY scaled down version of cross-fit.

              Favorite Primal food: Grassfed Rib-eye

Best part about being Primal: I feel great!

Worst part about being Primal: Passing up the tortilla chips/salsa at my favorite Mexican restaurant. But missing it less and less.

Hey, I just noticed this thread so here it is a little late even though I've been posting recently and have been reading for longer. I'd say I have been fully primal for over a year now.

Your location: Toronto, Canada (originally from Saskatchewan) -- Nice to see all the Canucks on the forum as well as all the great international representation. Awesome! Hell, gotta love the Yanks, too, of course. (might as well share the love ....)

                      Age: 51 (yipes!)

How Primal are you: Hmm ... Very (some exceptions, below)

Do you consume dairy: Yes. Almost exclusively raw milk cheeses and homemade kefir (okay, every so often I'll have a good quality, high-cream ice cream. Damn it, I'm human!)

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee

Motivator for switching to Primal: Better health as I age (or, more accurately, as I try to avoid the process) and the shear logic of it all. Previously, I didn't feel especially bad since I've been a relatively low carber for 10 years and have always been "fit". I wasn't overweight, had no other known health issues, but aging is apparently inevitable and so many people I know are getting sick with the "diseases of civilisation" so I started doing a LOT of reading. Ergo ...PB

Favorite exercise: Kettlebells (I have drunk Pavel's kool-aid) and, of course, barbells. Power to the People, baby!

Favorite Primal food: Raw fish, raw coconut oil/cream, and bison meat (that's three, I know)

Best part about being Primal: The consistent level of energy and vitality I feel as well as ease of maintaining body composition. Oh, yeah, and the delusional feeling of superiority over those who ain't. LOL.

Worst part about being Primal: Eating out. I'm okay with the loin cloth as long as it's not too tight.

                        Favorite exercise: Tap dancing/sprints.

                        Favorite Primal food: Steak

Best part about being Primal: The way people are actually surprised and interested when they ask me what it's all about.

Worst part about being Primal: The guilt after eating a slice of birthday cake or conceding to social occasion expectations!

Do you drink coffee or tea: Coffee and Green Tea

Motivator for switching to Primal: Love to surf and Ride MX. I was so out of shape and it (my fatness) no longer allowed me to enjoy those activities.

                              Age (If you want): 32

                              How Primal are you: 70-80%

Do you consume dairy: i am limiting it as i need to loose a lot more weight. but i will probably add a little here and there...

Do you drink coffee or tea: one cup at the most a day of coffee, green tea

Motivator for switching to Primal: i have never had good nutrition. that is what it is really about. to learn how to eat correct for my body. to understand what food does for me (good and bad) and to be able to have a good nutrition base for my son.

Favorite exercise: i am just getting into CrossFit. Lunges or squats are painfully awesome

Favorite Primal food: a good steak... mmmm maybe wrapped in bacon? haha

Best part about being Primal: how great i feel. i feel alive. i have energy and the mental clarity is amazing... (and i need it having an 8 month old!) haha

Worst part about being Primal: ugh... my family not doing it with me. my husband has been 100% supportive of my life change, but he is not willing to do it either. and having to explain when people roll their eyes when they say "oh, you are doing the low carb thing"... it's so much more then that! i guess i would love to sit and explain everything that i am now understanding about it. but i just have to let it go. "i" am the only one that needs to get it. and it's a hell-of-a-lot more then just a "low carb" thing...

Your location: Tucson, AZ (though I'm a recent transplant from New York who went to college in Los Angeles)

                                Age: 25

How Primal are you: 99% (I just changed my diet on Monday... so check back with me later)

                                Do you consume dairy: No

Do you drink coffee or tea: Tea (quit coffee last week)

Motivator for switching to Primal: I've been sick for the last few years (with a pretty bad case of Lyme Disease). In college I was a bodybuilder who enjoyed rock climbing, competitive sports, and the exercise of extreme will power. Starting at the end of my junior year (though I'd been sick for a few years and didn't know it) I became profoundly fatigued, depressed, irritable, and a whole host of other unfriendly adjectives which, over the next year, progressed to hallucinations, heart palpitations, severe muscle spasms and other things which would be fun if for a few hours after taking a pill but are less fun when the ride doesn't stop. After a VERY long road to recovery (that I am now just nearing the end of) which included massive amounts of antibiotics in conjunction with mood altering drugs (anti-depressants, stimulants, antacids... all of which I've cut from my life over the last few months) my body and mind have completely fallen apart (lying in bed for 20 hours a day taking prescription drugs by the handful for a few years will do that). As an adult, I've always been interested in nutrition (I was a fat kid...) and exercise, and, the way I view food and activity, it turns out, is quite primal... I just never knew it! I stumbled upon this blog on Friday, after researching ways to get my sleep pattern and productivity back on track after years of being sedentary, and I've been full steam ahead ever since. I've been eating primal since Monday (though, it isn't too far removed from how I was eating during my bodybuilding days) and, since getting the Primal Blueprint in the mail yesterday, I've been reading up as much as I can. I feel this community connects me to an older version of myself, the version of me that existed before I became ill. A version of me who questioned what my body was adapted toward doing and eating, who desired peak mental clarity and physical ability, who strove to realize my full "humanity", and who, above all, enjoyed life. This is what motivates me: the hope that I will, once again, know happiness and health. Only, this time, without taking them for granted. It is the hope of a convalescent.

                                Favorite exercise: Climbing

Favorite Primal food: I could eat a shoe if it were topped with fresh guacamole...

Best part about being Primal: Difficult to answer having just started. Though, for now, it has to be "feeling a modicum of control over my life"

Worst part about being Primal: I grew up fat in a nice Italian family. There are some nights I'd take a piping hot slice of Italian bread over just about anything else in the world... And let's not get started on real pizza (fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil). I know I'll stop craving them. But I don't know if they'll ever stop feeling like home...
