    How Primal are you:

    - nutritionwise: about 90% (still eat dairy)

    - exercise: i walk a lot (don't have a car), play volleyball twice a week (we do loads of Interval-like and bodyweight exercises), lift weights.

    Do you consume dairy: yes. I put cream in my coffee, eat cheese and occasionally yogurt (fullfat, homemade). always organic though.

    Do you drink coffee or tea: i drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day.

    Motivator for switching to Primal: Stumbling onto Mark's Daily Apple 2 years ago was all it took. Everything makes perfect sense, you cannot not do it.

    I've been a lowfat-vegetarian for 18 years (not PETA-holier-than-thou-style, I was just minding my own business), and after being veggie-primal for 6 months, I was ready to stop that shit and start eating meat again. BEST decision I've ever made. I have never felt satiated from a meal before (stuffed yes, but not comfortably full), I've experienced this the first time i ate meat again.

    Favorite exercise: almost everything we do in volleyball practice, planks, inlineskating, burpees

    Favorite Primal food: any kind of meat & fish, eggs, nuts, all veggies except brussel sprouts.

    Best part about being Primal:

    being able to eat fat, feeling satiated, never being cold (back in my lowfat days, i felt as if my body wasn't capable of producing heat. now i'm almost never cold. It's awesome.), no more dry skin, knowing and feeling that you are doing the right thing.

    Worst part about being Primal:

    I miss freshly baked bread and Walker's Shortbread Cookies. But that's a price i'm willing to pay.

      How Primal are you: Doing the P90X diet, so maybe 50%?

      Do you consume dairy: Yes (1 cup of skim milk per day, sometimes 1 cup of fat-free cottage cheese as well)

      Do you drink coffee or tea: Either one, but not every day

      Motivator for switching to Primal: Love the "back to the basics" mantra about it. Also feel like grains/carbs are my one major weakness with my diet and always have been. I want to break the habit! I want to feel and look my best, and I feel the PB will help me in those respects.

      Favorite exercise: Yoga X / Plyometrics

      Favorite Primal food: Walnuts

      Best part about being Primal: Haven't figured that out yet! But I'm guessing once I'm 100% Primal (or close to it), the best part will be how I feel!

      Worst part about being Primal: Gonna miss that bread and rice...hopefully I won't feel that way for long though!

        How Primal are you: Maybe 80 - 90%

        Do you consume dairy: Yes (yogurt and cheese)

        Motivator for switching to Primal: Mostly my husband, but I became independently motivated after reading and then trying it out for a couple of weeks.

        Favorite exercise: Unfortunately - or not, I love cardio - any kind of intense cardio.

        Favorite Primal food: My favorite food changes rapidly depending on what I'm eating. I think it's safe to say just about anything could be classified as a favorite.

        Best part about being Primal: Having spent the past year counting and weighing my food and trying really hard, I can say this is the most freeing thing I've done. I feel great, too.

        Worst part about being Primal: Took me a while to get over my fear of fat. I still cringe a little when I eat butter or oil, but so far, so good.

          How Primal are you: Not Primal at the moment. Just getting started on this journey.

          Do you consume dairy: Yes, but I assume I'll have to cut it back significantly. I love Greek Yogurt, milk and cheese.

          Do you drink coffee or tea: yes, but it's either or and only once a day.

          Motivator for switching to Primal: Well, I try to be pretty open-minded about many things in live, and while coming across this blog was very accidental, many principles of Primal diet just make sense.

          Favorite exercise: I love hiking, but I'm not sure if it can be classified as an EXCERCISE.

          Best part about being Primal: Eating all-natural. It's been a long-time coming for me and it will probably take some time to adjust.

          Worst part about being Primal: I would say it's a toss about convenience and social acceptance (understanding).

              LOL! Yeah, I love cheese as well! We got some garlic cheese curds from the Ellsworth cheese factory the other day and they are sooooo yummy!

              Gonna miss cheese a lot...

                How Primal are you: getting there... I do eat some grain, but it's maybe 1 piece of whole grain bread per day that I make myself from wheat that I grind myself... so it still has all of the fiber, vit E, etc etc in it. My ground zero issue is not getting enough sleep... everything else builds upon that foundation.

                Do you consume dairy: yes, but not every day

                Do you drink coffee or tea: no

                Motivator for switching to Primal: conquer my insulin resistance once and for all, and to feel healthy and strong, oh, and to lose my excess weight (about 80-100lbs). I've been insulin resistant for 10 years (that I know of). Now that my kids are getting a little bigger, I feel like I can focus on me a little more.

                Favorite exercise: walking, I've always responded well to weight training, used to hike, rock climb etc. but haven't been able to for a long time. I'm looking forward to getting strong again.

                Favorite Primal food: avocados, steak, coconut oil, salmon, pine nuts

                Best part about being Primal: it feels right... cravings are gone

                Worst part about being Primal: just the extra time preparing/planning meals and trying to fit in exercise... basically the extra effort it requires to learn new habits.

                ETA: I've been soaking up this site for at least a couple of weeks now and I'm so inspired by everyone here! It seems like such a supportive community.

                  Favorite exercise:Crossfit stuff, I run a bit nothing like I used to, gym workout, PB has changed my body shape and my life. Love it!

                  Favorite Primal food: Eggs & Salmon. I have history of family heart disease and was a little concerned. Last year I had a blood test in Feb, having turned up a the doctors first time in 7 years! I had a blocked ear. Doctor said as we have not seen you for sometime I'll send you to the hospital for a blood test, I have all the results. I want another blood test in August which should reflect a year of EF and the consumption of over 700 eggs!

                  Best part about being Primal: My body shape, I look better with my shirt off than my 23 year old son. When I was a runner I looked crap, skinny with love handles, now no handles, I tried to get them off by running 20 plus miles a week but eating a high carb diet for fuel. I now run under 5 miles a week on protein only and feel great and am faster!

                  Worst part about being Primal: Boring everybody....! To me there has been no negatives, I was a huge porridge, bread eater, I still have a few pints socially and red wine with dinner. I also now indulge in 85% dark chocolate and love black coffee which I did not touch before. The whole PB thing has been wonderful. Went on holiday last week, read my copy of Mark's PB - brilliant, loved it. Thank you

                        I have just remarked this presentation thread and the fact that I have not througly presented myself before my initial posts, even if I have given some elements in them.

                        Your location: I am from the South of France (but I am originally from Turkey - a mixed bag of genes from the Balkans, Crete, Eastern Turkey and Istanbul).

                        Age (If you want): 45

                        How Primal are you: New one, fully PB for the food trying to get PB for the activities.

                        Do you consume dairy: Yes, I love cheese and yogurt, but stopped drinking milk after going PB.

                        Do you drink coffee or tea: Both of them. Espresso for the coffee and mainly Turkish black tea and Earl grey.

                        Motivator for switching to Primal: Losing weight and getting healthier. I have some ancestors who had suffered from diabetes and I would not like to suffer from it...

                        Favorite exercise: Walking and swimming.

                        Favorite Primal food: Egg plant and tomatoes.

                        Best part about being Primal: At the end of my first month, I feel much better and dynamic. My body has impressively changed (at least for me), even if I have not lost a lot of weight for now (4.7 Kg, but I am not in a hurry, this is long process for all life, isn't it).

                        I have followed South Beach for some time, but PB offers a broader perspective, and I love this.

                        Worst part about being Primal: ? Maybe leaving the tasty whole bread behind me.

                        I do not ask for a miracle, just to be in a better shape to get more fun from (a longer?) life...

                        A final note: English is my third language, so I can sometimes be clumsy in my posts, even if I am trying to be careful...

                          Do you drink coffee or tea: Both. But not usually at the same time. (Note I said usually, not always)

                          Motivator for switching to Primal: Body composition, health.

                          Favorite exercise: Cleans.

                          Best part about being Primal: Freedom to eat as I like. So far I don't really feel restricted.

                          Worst part about being Primal: A bit more time consuming to prepare foods. And my microwave feels neglected.

                            How Primal are you: I don't identify as primal. I think that some people shouldn't eat so much meat, while others can handle it. But I'm into whole foods made and prepared like nature intended.

                              How Primal are you: just starting out but I think I am doing pretty well.

                              Do you consume dairy: Only small amounts of cheese and milk in protein shakes

                                How Primal are you: Definitely not perfect. Some aspects of the primal lifestyle I'd like to adopt but are either out of my control or the opportunity cost is too great. Other aspects I'm still working towards or aspiring too. But for the most part I comply to the PB lifestyle pretty adherently.

                                Do you consume dairy: Cheese, cream and butter.

                                Do you drink coffee or tea: Never made it a habit but I don't mind tea or a cup of joe.

                                Motivator for switching to Primal: Like Mark Sisson, I was a big distance runner but was plagued with chronic running injuries. Iliotibial band syndrome eventually overwhelmed my ability to run distance. I questioned why my body was failing me and slowly discerned (through all the contrary influence of society and conventional wisdom) that running distance isn't healthy. Before discovering the PB I totally was drinking the "conventional wisdom" Kool-aid; low-fat, whole grain, fiber, orthotics, sun-screen, soy-milk, canola oil, 60 mile weeks. I breathed in all that bull-shit. Discovering MDA and the primal philosophy now makes so much sense inductively and deductively; through the lens of evolutionary biology theory and natural reasoning and empirical sciences. For me, discovering PB philosophy has been a personal and spiritual enlightenment, sort of a transcendental learning experience.

                                Favorite exercise: Now that I'm not running I love to lift heavy things. Distance running left my body in broken shambles. When I started lifting my back was so weak I couldn't even stand while pressing an empty barbell overhead. I've only been lifting a few months now so I'm still making gains every week. Favorite exercises include: Dead-lift, front squat, standing press, bench press, pull-ups, dips, DB snatches and swings, barefoot trail "running", sprints, box jumps. I love-love-love it all! I utilize MDA primarily for nutrition but for workouts,, and are awesome resources. I recommend these resources to the primal community.

                                Favorite Primal food: Beef and other slow-cooked meats

                                Best part about being Primal: feeling in-tune with my biological nature.

                                Worst part about being Primal: living in a society with different/opposing systemic expectations, values, and customs than my personal lifestyle. It's really not that bad though. It's not like society is totally intolerant or incompatible, just different.
