  • Not for me...............

I have been following the PB diet with few exceptions (I've had some peanut butter) and I think I am going to bid adieu. In four days I have gained over two pounds and have had a low-grade migraine for three of the four days. I have been slowly but steadily been losing weight on my own for the past couple months and what's taking me two weeks to lose has come back in four days.

So this post is supposed to do, what? Make us join you? Make us beg you to stay? Make us wonder about your lack of dedication and perseverance? I don't understand.

Well, from one of your previous posts:

I am going to work on sticking to lean protein, veggies, and fruit - I think my biggest challenge will be cutting out sugar and grain so that's all I'm willing to commit to
Sounds like your problem was too much fruit and not enough fat.

      And not nearly enough patience.

Well good luck out there in the real world. Keep it in mind that gluten is everywhere, everything is cooked in Canola & grains are hard to digest because they don't want to be eaten.

            Maybe you should go vegan.

It's called carb flu and it will pass if you just wait patiently for a few more days. Read up on it. The 2 lbs is water, it will disappear.

Please don't give up so easily. As marthat said, it's probably water and carb flu that are giving you the perceived problems.
Give it a few more days.

Also, this is not a weight loss diet. It's a healthy way of eating, which can cause weight gain just like any other way of eating.

WOW! Sorry I didn't word my post right. I am super frustrated and posted as such, if I didn't care I wouldn't have posted. I get that PB is not about losing weight, rather a was a eating for life, but I am obese and at risk of a host of health problems (though right now I am PERFECTLY healthy, no numbers to worry about). So yes, my main goal is to lose weight.

Thank you to the people who offered support. The the rest of you, who made you the PB god?

I'll second (or third, or fourth?) the carb flu and water weight gain comments. Stick it out for a little longer.

But, if you must go... are we allowed to eat the people that quit PB?

Yeah, but if they didn't eat PB long enough to balance their O3:O6 ratios, you have to count it as your 20%. I hear they taste like pork.

I am still interested in this way of diet, I should have worded my post better, as I am just really frustrated. I am still waiting for Mark's books to arrive. However, if I have over 100 lbs to lose would gaining weight be acceptable when eating healthy.

Carly I can understand your frustration, i am frustrated as well and having a similar experience. I do think it is worth it to stick with it...maybe both of us need to be even more diligent with our food choices...and up the activity levels. Don't quit...it will help.
