  • Eating Rice ?

I am sure it's been asked before but it seems to me that rice has been the main diet for Asians for a long time. They don't seem to have weight problems especially the Japanese and they live a long time. Even though rice is a grain, I don't see how it could cause a problem. Anyone care to comment. Thanks.

      Yup, it doesn't.

      White rice is not wheat.

This topic comes up quite frequently around here. Here are a couple of decent threads you may want to read to get your answers:

White rice may not be a problem... until one develops insulin resistance. Insulin resistance in the Asian world may be a lot more prevalent than the rate of obesity.

Any good starch is still just that, starch. Use it wisely, don't let it crowd out your nutrition.
