  • Ditch the dairy?

    Hi all...Been primal/ paleo since May. I've lost 5 inches from my waist but have not weighed myself at all. I am still chunky, my guess is at about 175 pounds (5' 3"). Issue is that I have stopped losing girth for over one month now. I do have dairy, along with totally paleo (a lot of garden produce, with pastured meats). Should I ditch the dairy? By the way, of any food, I do crave dairy and will eat it when it's in the house.

    I'm pretty sure the answer is "maybe". Try it for 3-4 weeks, and see if it works for you.

      And the form of dairy makes a difference too.

      I can have greek yogurt or cheese and I'm fine. Drinking milk makes me just start chugging the stuff, and I end up stalling or packing the weight back on.

      Try going without for a while and see if it helps.

        kasein (milk protein) is part of that whole insulin/growth hormon complex. i would avoid anything made of milk, except butter or mascarpone. try it for a month.

          Goat milk has almost no casien.

            Try skipping dairy and see what happens. And maybe cut back on nuts if you eat a lot of it?
