20 years ago I was told by my doctor that I had to lose weight due to health issues. Back then I was 23 and 5'10" and a whopping 325 pounds. I learned to cook for myself and I started to exercise, mostly just running. In about a year I was down to 190 pounds and that when I discovered the gym, where I put on muscle and got really lean, most of my friends and family could hardly believe it....I couldn't believe it. I got really hurt in the gym one year and had to have my top rib on the left side of my body removed.
Just before I turned 40 I began to have issues with my stomach, constant bloating, my digestive system was a complete wreck. I went for an endoscopy, a colonoscopy and the doctors found nothing but my daily practice of running, lifting weight and taking yoga classes slowed down. Recently I have become a yoga instructor and I spend a lot of my time with yoga, but I discovered that I have a wheat allergy and I can't go anywhere near anything with gluten. I still have problems with my stomach although they are less, they are still there and still seem to control my life. As I eat well no carbs, no meat or chicken, but lots of fish, fruits, nuts and vegetables, and not sweets, I still have the same stomach problems. Is this about getting older or is it just that my body doesn't respond to the same things anymore. This is very confusing and painful.
