One thing I really miss since moving to Corpus Christi is mountain biking. Berlin was a great place for cycling in general but MTBing was super. We shared the same trails as the guys doing cyclocross and it was a great workout. The best part was doing it in the winter and then stopping at a kiosk in the forest for some gluwhein! :-)

My favorite activity now is racquetball but I haven't been able to play for a few months due to injury. I finally made my comeback today.

BTW, I've decided to jump into the blogoshphere. I plan on writing up my racquetball experience tomorrow. Check it out:

Totally agree. Variety helps me be an active person in everything I do, I always look for some way to make it active.

Mike OD... watch out for those trees!!!

Most fun I have is a single speed mountain bike. Doing different trails, one speed, alternating high levels of anaerobic spurts with cruising...it's so much fun...well until you hit a tree that is.

Great post. I know for me the only way I can keep up regular physical activity is if I change the things up frequently. In fact, I hardly ever do the exact same thing twice. Even if I am doing the same 30 minute run or longer bike ride I at the very least change the route, however slightly, and usually throw in some new form of intervals in there as well. You have to keep it fresh. Also, as you say changing things up eliminates the worry of plateauing to a large degree. CrossFit does a great job of this.
