Contest Results: Primal Lunch Pics
Last week I asked you to send in snapshots of your Primal lunches. And just as you did with your breakfast pics you emailed me over 100 fantastic photos! I’ve included them below. (Click on the thumbnails for full size versions.)
This blog post stands to represent a sample of what modern Groks all around the world are chowing. As you’ll see, as long as you stick with clean meats, veggies and fruits it’s pretty tough to go wrong.
I randomly selected a winning photo. The contestant described his lunch as follows:
Lunch was very simple that day:
The meat. 2 lamb chops. Cooked rare. Sautéed in coconut oil with a little bit of thyme and garlic.
The veggie: Organic Tetragone (a.k.a. New Zealand Spinach) “wilted” with a bit of butter (organic). Not really spinach but very similar and without the metallic after-taste regular spinach leaves me. Find out more about “Tetragone” here or here. Nutrition data here.
The dollop: Good’ole Dijon mustard. Grilled meat served in France just wouldn’t be meat with out;-)
Unfortunately the MDA reader that submitted the photo lives in France and wasn’t eligible to win the contest prize. Instead I shipped him a canister of Damage Control Master Formula and tried again. This time the random winner was a U.S. resident who sent in a pic of a delicious looking hunk of meat.

Enjoy that mace, Gillian, and thanks to everyone for sending in your photos! Grok on!

Hehe i love the picture with the raw meat
hahaha i loved the taste!
Yum… and I think I spotted a Bacon Explosion, didn’t I?
A lot of those are looking pretty dang good!
Yay! I’m so excited about that mace! For the record, that’s a chicken sausage. I was out at a cafe with a friend and this was on the menu as a “side” but its a perfect midday meal. I was halfway through it when I thought, “I should take a picture of this!” Yay!
I enjoyed all the pics of the empty plates! Grok on!
Adam – You did! That was mine.
I’ve made it twice now, and with healthy ingredients.
Great job, everyone! (I’d love to have a potluck with the bunch of you.)
Well, there are still a lot of advantages of living in France despite it being too far to ship a mace:-) Glad it will go to good use in the US.
And thanks for the Master Formula Mark!
Man, I totally forgot to send mine in! Oops… Will have to send you the dinner.
This looks like a fine collection of lunches!! MMMMM
I love to eat food with my fingers.
How about some recipes to go along with those pictures?
Yes, recipes!!!! Love to try new recipes!
