Contest Poll: Primal Blueprint Workout Video

At the start of this 30-Day Challenge I put out a call for Primal Blueprint Workout Videos. And you responded with 17 top-notch clips. Boiling the submissions down to the top three was no easy task. My crew and I discussed at length what made up a good fitness video. Was it fun and entertaining? Was the workout something we can see ourselves doing? Did it inspire and keep us watching? How well did it represent Primal Blueprint Fitness? On and on. In the end we held a blind vote and ended up with the following three picks. To everyone that didn’t make the cut, many, many thanks for taking the time to put together an amazing contribution to this year’s 30-Day Challenge.

Imagine you’re George Clooney. Take a moment to admire your grooming and wit. Okay, now imagine someone walks up to you and asks, “What’s your name?” You say, “I’m George Clooney.” Or maybe you say, “I’m the Clooninator!” You don’t say “I’m George of George Clooney Sells Movies Blog” and you certainly don’t say, “I’m Clooney Weight Loss Plan”.   4. It’s a close race to the finish. I voted for “Primal workouts in modern city” since I was just living in Chicago for 5 weeks and may be back for a couple mor to finish the year.

    Loved how they incorporated all aspects of primal outside of food. Give them some love!

    Of course, the playground one was a lot of fun and evolution was exhausting.

  7. So that’s a hard decision. Everyone seriously did a wonderful job but in the end I had to go with the playground.

    It’s a place made specifically for playing. Love it!

  9. Wow, they all rocked (or should I say ‘grokked’? nyuk nyuk). The 1st one had me feeling very zen by the end. The third one taught me some new moves to do at the playground (and wishful for my non-primal spouse to join me). But the second video has my vote; it got my kids oohing and awwing and we had a blast dancing to the music as we watched. Anything that excites my kiddos has my vote.

    These are some creative videos. I’ll start by saying evolution was tiring to watch, the kids playground was great fun, however I must say that the modern city is the most practical and easiest to follow and aspire to for anyone of all fitness levels. Great ideas with using the surroundings for working out. Will definitely include some of those ideas into my daily life. So I agree with Primal Toad in this poll, Modern city has my vote. Thanks for sharing all! Good luck. :)

    The others are certainly fun and they are definitely in great shape, but Evolution Dude is bad ass and his program is smart and structured. Great job!

  16. Great Videos. Not gonna lie though, i started laughing out loud when the girl was doing squat thrusts with her Puppy. She looks so into it and serious, and that’s what i LOVE about it… But c’mon..that funny!

  18. Three great videos! The “fitness” of the participants is a beautiful thing, but it also looks “doable” (or at least it looks like something I can aspire to). Mostly, it looks like a lot of fun!

  19. I’m late to the party; but I thought “Primal on the Playground” and “Workouts In A Modern City” were both great! Also, I loved seeing the guy climb the light pole in “Evolution”!

    Well done guys!

    I do want to say a word about “box jumps.”

    I think people will get more out of the movement if they get full hip extension at the top of the “box” rather than just jumping back down again. Sure, it slows you down but more box jumps does not necessarily mean more benefits; especially if you’re not engaging in full range of motion.

    Seriously. Try doing the same number of box jumps with full extension at the top before you jump back down. You’ll notice the difference – both in terms of muscle engagement and heart rate.
