aeroSling. Elmar is a reader over in Germany who decided to start who his own fitness business. A year’s worth of German engineering later I received one of these things in the mail (for all I know, I may have been the first American to get one). Great for CrossFitters or anyone interested in adding a little variety to bodyweight strength training, wrap it around a tree limb or telephone pole to add dips, reverse rows, overhead presses, hanging planks, or assisted pistol squats to your routine. Winner will receive one aeroSling ELITE , courtesy of Elmar and Smooth Fitness.
One element of this challenge was to find and eat clean food:
Eat clean: The quality of your food matters. While sourcing clean food (organic, grass-fed, pastured, etc.) can be difficult and pricey it’s also an important part of the Primal Blueprint. Let me be clear. If your eating plan strictly consists of Primal foods, but your beef isn’t grass-finished, your eggs aren’t pastured and your vegetables are conventionally raised, you are still light years ahead of most people. But there’s room for improvement. This month I want you find and eat clean food. Stay tuned for tips on sourcing the best and doing it on a budget.
(This is just one of many challenges. Learn about all of the 30-Day Primal Blueprint Challenges here .)
Today I’m putting emphasis on the “find.”
Lowering your carb intake is a great start to living Primal. Eliminating the poisons , dropping the sugars, adding more veggies, that’s all important. But living Primal isn’t just a carb-to-fat ratio. It’s also about finding the best quality of food. As we head toward the last week of the 30-Day Challenge, now’s the time to really make the effort to find the locally grown, fresh, good stuff. To go beyond the meat counter at the Piggly Wiggly or the vegetable aisle at the Wal-Mart. This week I want you to find a local, fresh source of healthy food. Track down a farmers’ market, and meet and greet the people behind your new source of food. Drive out to an actual farm. Or if you’re an urbanite, find one of those roving veggie trucks that are popping up in L.A., N.Y., and D.C. It’s all about foraging in the modern world. If you’ve been meaning to make a connection with your local farmer, to source out the best food available in your local area, but just haven’t done it yet, there is no better time than now. Once you’ve done it, snap a photo…
Take a picture of yourself with your local farmer or fresh food supplier. Email me the picture with the email subject heading “My Farmer Submission” and you’re entered to win. A random drawing will be held among all eligible contestants.
October 3, midnight PST. Many of you won’t have a chance to do this until the weekend, thus the Oct. 3 deadline.
Who is Eligible:
All folks everywhere.
