Contest: Make a Primal Blueprint Recipe Video

A Primal/paleo Cookbook Library - Just a couple years ago it was next to impossible to find a high-quality Primal/paleo/ancestral health cookbook on the market. I set out to change that and released The Primal Blueprint Cookbook in 2010 and Primal Blueprint Quick & Easy Meals earlier this year. With the growing popularity of the Primal health movement other fantastic books have recently been published or are about to drop soon. The Contest:

Create and upload a Primal recipe video to YouTube. Have you mastered the omelet? Are you an almond flour fiend? Maybe your salad is so mean, it can win a chili cookoff. If so, let the world in on your secrets. Grab your camcorder, and show us how to make something Primal. There aren’t really restrictions on how you do it. The only requirement is that your video relates in some way to the Primal Blueprint eating plan. Show the world (how to prepare) your best Primal dish and you could be the winner of the complete Primal package listed above.

For an idea of what you can do, check out some of 2009′s highlights, including spareribs, vegetable fritters, Primal nutella, and coconut pancakes.

The video needs to be an original video made for the purposes of this contest. Please title the video “Primal Blueprint Recipe:” followed by your own sub-title.

Upload your video to YouTube and then email me the link. I’ll publish select videos on Mark’s Daily Apple at the end of the month. Include the words “Recipe Video Submission” in the subject line of your email. Otherwise, there’s a good chance I may completely miss your submission.

The Deadline:

September 28, midnight PST.

Who is Eligible:

While anyone can enter, the salmon and jerky are only available to U.S. residents. In the case of an international winner, a substitute prize of equal value will be awarded.

How A Winner Will Be Decided:

Video submissions will be posted toward the end of the Challenge. The Worker Bees and I will choose a list of finalists to be voted on by readers.

    • You can still enter! I’m not in the US and I sure plan to.

      You’re still eligible for the books – its just that you can’t ship food across borders very easily.

      You’re still eligible to win fabulous prizes even though you are outside the US. The salmon and jerky will be sustituted for something else but everything else remains the same.

  25. I have to think about this one because most of the things I LOVE to cook are from Sarah Fragosa’s cookbook or podcast or the Primal Blueprint cookbook (which is an absolutely awesome book, by the way)! Will think about it, though… there’s so much good stuff out there to cook.

    • How is jerky not gluten free? I make homemade venison jerky and can assure you that there is no gluten in it at all.

      • MOST store bought (includes online stores) jerky contains jerky…depends on your ingrediants…their website clearly states that at the moment their gluten is not gluten free and that you should be careful when building your jerky if you have other allergies as well. I very rarely ever am able to buy jerky bc many use soy sauce etc when making.

        I just wanted to be sure others with celiac/gluten allergies or those simply on a gluten free diet were aware

    • I wish I noticed that before ordering…I guess I assumed that if Mark was plugging it that it was Primal. Hopefully since soy sauce is fermented and the beef is probably only marinated in it the amount of grain (and gluten) in the finished product will be low. It does taste good though, came in the mail today.

  30. I have to share! I just made the broccoli quiche from PB Quick and Easy and it tastes SOOO GOOD! I wish I’d made a video, but I’m so happy and full right now that I really don’t care! Plus I’ve got breakfast dealt with for at least another few days!! I can’t describe it…so delicious. My whole body is smiling.

  31. I’m excited! I just finished making my first ever cooking video! My son did the editing and we’re just waiting for it to render. Should have it up tonight, along with the recipe and an article on my blog. I made a lot of mistakes and felt kind of silly (I’m new to Primal\Paleo and have only lost 10 pounds, which of course, the camera added, dangit!) But what fun it was!
