Introducing The Primal Blueprint 90-Day Journal

90day spiralcover front 1Update: The 90-Day Journal is still available at PrimalBlueprint.com, but the special limited-time offer detailed below has come to end.

The Primal Blueprint 90-Day Journal – A Personal Experiment is here, and it goes above and beyond anything you have ever seen in the health and fitness logbook/journal/diary category. Honestly, the project has been in R&D for no less than 30 years, dating back to my days as a competitive endurance athlete when I faithfully logged my workouts in the popular training logs du jour. Even then, I was never terribly impressed with the products on the store shelves. They were (and still are) either too open-ended with no guidance whatsoever, or too limiting, with logbook blanks that didn’t apply to my personal experiences. I thought, perhaps there was a way to marry the best of both worlds: to provide guidance and structure for assorted ability and experience levels, while allowing for sufficient flexibility and free-form expression. This is how the idea for The Primal Blueprint 90-Day Journal was born.

In keeping with the recent “How to Conduct a Personal Experiment” theme, I’ve put together a fun contest. I’ve been sharing my ideas for personal Primal experiments. Now it’s your turn. Gallery main bambooYou think Grok took a seat on a porcelain throne when nature called? Of course not! Grok squatted, and so should you. But what are we to do? Is it time for all-out bathroom renovations? No, there’s a simpler solution, and that’s where Squatty Potty comes to the rescue. The winner of this drawing gets their pick of the Squatty Plastic, Squatty Classic or the Squatty Tao Bamboo. Learn more about the benefits of squatting here and order your own Squatty Potty today.

Caveman Blogger Fights for Free Speech and Internet Freedom

You may have heard that Steve Cooksey of Diabetes-Warrior.net received a letter back in January from the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutritionists explaining to him that he and his website were being investigated. What was Steve doing wrong, you ask? Well, Steve was sharing his story with his readers and suggesting that they might benefit from following a similar path. And he was doing it without a license! You can read all about it here.

Contest: Share Your Wisdom – Round 2

TropicalandFuelLast year I held a contest during the annual 30-Day Challenge called “Share Your Wisdom“. In it I asked Mark’s Daily Apple readers (you) for answers to 10 questions that would help newbies kick start their Primal lives. Things like “What do you think is the most important thing one should understand as they attempt to go Primal?”, “What was the biggest hurdle you experienced when going Primal and how did you overcome it?”, and “What do you eat for breakfast?”. I then compiled your answers into an ebook that all MDA newsletter subscribers receive for free called “Primal Living in the Real World”. It’s #5 in the list here.

Since the ebook’s release, I’ve had numerous people email me expressing how much they appreciated the insights from members of the community, and how they have helped them get started. I’d like to do another one of these ebooks – a follow-up (“Primal Living in the Real World: Part 2″) with 10 new questions and answers. And that’s where you and this contest come in. First, the prize…

Dear Readers: What Do You Want?

questions2It’s Monday and that usually means another round of Dear Mark, but today I have something a little different in mind. Today I have some questions for you (along with a chance to win a Primal prize).

Since I launched Mark’s Daily Apple way back in 2006 it’s been my goal to help 10 million people take control of their health. While MDA now reaches hundreds of thousands of people every month I’m always looking for new ways to do a better job, so I’m coming to you for ideas.

Over the years I’ve put together and given away numerous freebies (the 7-Day Course on the Fundamentals for Lifelong Health, the Primal Blueprint Fitness eBook, the Reader-Created Cookbooks and Primal Living in the Modern World to name a few), created new, handy web pages (the 101 page, the Recipe page, the Shopping List page, the Resource page and others), launched the forum, released a number of books, expanded the Primal supplement line, and began hosting events (Primal Transformation Seminars and PrimalCon) all with my stated goal in mind. Again, how can I help as many people as possible? How can I make this the best and most reader-friendly health site on the Interwebs? How can I best distill the science and make it easy to understand and practical to use? And how can I offer the best products and services a Grok or Grokette could want? While I don’t really need another project at the moment (I’m wrapping up two new books – The Primal Blueprint 90-Day Journal and The Primal Connection – but more on that later) I’d love to hear what you think would make Mark’s Daily Apple a better website and your Primal life easier.

So, with that in mind, a contest:
