Last, let me announce the winner of the Reader-Created Cookbook Contest. All readers that had their recipes chosen to be published on MDA are featured in this eBook, received a Grok on! T-shirt and, of course, will receive a copy of this digital cookbook. But one lucky winner chosen at random will also receive a Primal gift package. And that lucky winner is… Richard Freund! Richard submitted the Grilled Beef Heart with Roasted Chili Peppers recipe.

Many thanks to everyone that participated in this contest.

I hope everyone enjoys this eBook and the recipes from fellow Groks. Here’s to Primal eating!

Stay tuned for today’s regularly scheduled post…

You want comments? We got comments:

Imagine you’re George Clooney. Take a moment to admire your grooming and wit. Okay, now imagine someone walks up to you and asks, “What’s your name?” You say, “I’m George Clooney.” Or maybe you say, “I’m the Clooninator!” You don’t say “I’m George of George Clooney Sells Movies Blog” and you certainly don’t say, “I’m Clooney Weight Loss Plan”. So while spam is technically meat, it ain’t anywhere near Primal. Please nickname yourself something your friends would call you.

  1. Super! Can’t wait! And just in time for the holidays!

    Thanks for doing this Mark!

      • Hey Mark,

I subscribe to the newsletter and have not yet received an email about the recipe ebook. Is there anything else I need to do, or should I just be patient?

        Primal_Joe wrote on November 11th, 2010
        • Joe, same boat here. If anyone has the email can they forward it on? I checked my deleted and junk just in case and haven’t received anything from Mark in the last few days. :\

      • I’ve followed all the directions in the email and have not been able to access the recipe book download, just the exercise book which I already have. Is there a problem?

Sally wrote on November 12th, 2010
        • The recipe book is located on the exact same page the exercise book is found.

Mark Sisson wrote on November 12th, 2010
        • Mark, I received your message that the recipe book is on the same page as the exercise book. When I went looking on Wednesday, it was not there. Just the exercise book was there.

Now, because I used my password on Wednesday apparently, nothing happens when I enter it to try to access the recipe book again. I’m with Nikki, is there a way to get the password reset?

Sally wrote on November 12th, 2010
        • The PW can’t be reset. It’s used by thousands of other people accessing the free eBooks. Maybe try clearing your browsers cache/cookies and trying again. I can assure you the eBooks are there and that the PW works.

      • Mark, I have been following your website for about a year now and I have your primal cook book. You put out great information! I was able to get to the readers submited cook book the other day but now I cant open it up, I even tried re-subscribeing to the website. Any suggestions?

  2. This is so awesome! I cannot wait to get all the great recipes that are on this blog all together in one spot. In fact, I am even more excited to suggest them to my weight loss clients!

  3. RIGHTEOUS. I’ve been waiting for something like this for a while now – the recipes posted online were great, but I have to admit that it’s kind of a hassle to keep my laptop open on the kitchen counter while I cook… Don’t get me wrong, I love trees, but I think that the convenience of having this guy on my kitchen cookbook rack will merit the worthy sacrifice of a few of my erstwhile sylvan friends :)

Thanks, Mark, and word up to my culinarily inclined fellow readers for the recipes. Can’t wait to try ‘em ALL!

  8. Excellent. Downloaded and on my desktop. I think Google was getting tired of my hitting refresh on my gmail account every 30 seconds waiting for the newsletter to come in. I’ll need to hit the grocery store this weekend for sure now.

    Thanks Mark

  11. Wow! I did not expect this and couldn’t be happier, a cookbook with so many peoples signature recipes in it, this is a early Christmas present indeed! You should make this a tradition, the primal holiday tradition for healthy inspiration ;D.

Beautifully presented with detailed directions on everything.

The Fat Guacamole Devils and Sushi With A Twist is something I’m gonna try very soon.

    Thanks!

  14. Thanks for providing this, Mark.

As an early purchaser of the PB Cook Book, while I was happy with the recipes in general, there were quite a few inconsistencies, missing bits of information, and odd design / layout oversights – which are the only real complaints I’ve seen people posting about on the books’ Amazon page.

This new book, however, has a consistent, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing layout, that absolutely cures all of the previously-mentioned issues. It’s good to know that you are listening to your customers. It’d be doubly nice if – assuming a future printing of the original PB Cook Book will be revised with this design – you make a complimentary digital version available to your database of purchasers.

Again, thanks for this – it is appreciated, and will see a lot of good use.

  16. YAY!!!!
In our household we have a running joke ala the movie “Little Miss Sunshine” where the grandpa expresses his dislike for having chicken every single night. In fact he words it as “effen chicken again”?? my older family members just call it FCA for short. I really hope this helps me out in the chicken department especially!

I make every meal from scratch so creativity and variety is key to appease all involved. I feel like it’s Christmas!
    Sweet:)

    TY and Cheers

  17. Awesome! Perfect timing, too.

Thanks Mark (and all those who contributed). The primal/paleo community never ceases to amaze me.
We spend our time actually helping and educating each other, rather than blast authors in the face with pepper laced pies and dump paint on unsuspecting models.

Jared wrote on November 10th, 2010
  18. ….

If you dump paint on someone wearing fur, aren’t they just going to replace it with another coat?

    A bit counter-productive, no?

And why don’t PETAphiles dump paint on leather-clad biker gangs?

    …sorry for rambling…

How much calcium is in 1 serving of the Primal Fuel Vanilla Creme? It doesn’t state calcium on the label but surely there is some?! I like to keep track of how much calcium I am getting in my diet each day.

  24. OH MY GOSH

    THANK YOU SO MUCH.

    Just what I needed.

I am going to re-subscribe at my home address so I can get cooking!
I am new to this lifestyle and loving it! Shifting how I cook is not always easy.

Also I am really loving the freedom and flexibility of getting off the “chronic cardio” plan. I was your typical case study!

Did I say Thank you yet?

I am also almost done reading Primal Blueprint. Handing it to my husband next.

Just wanted to let you know I found an error in a recipe. The dressing ingredients for the Lobster salad (http://www.marksdailyapple.com/lobster-grapefruit-and-avocado-salad-with-creamy-citrus-dressing/) are completely wrong. Looks more like roasted tomato salsa to me. Imagine my surprise trying to make this, had to improvise on the spot.
